FOKKER | News & Discussion

These great aeroplanes deserve an own thread.
Although the last Fokkers rolled out from the factory in 1997, these aeroplanes are still reliable, useable and nice aircrafts.
So lets begin with posting some pictures of a Fokker 50.

Pictures taken at Lombok, Indonesia.

Fokker 100

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fokker_100

Fokker 100 with 100 seats and a bigger range, could be today a good product versus Embraer 190/Sukhoi Superjet 100/Bombardier CS Series 100 and others future plane from Asia (Comac, Mitsubishi, indian project ...).

Its absolutely is. Fokker made such a good airplanes, and once you let such a company become bankrupt, its very difficult to get a decent aircraftmanufacturer back, the equipment, manpower, knowledge and experience.... its all gone.... and maybe forever.
Koolhoven, Fokker... het is allemaal verleden tijd geworden.

Im afraid Rekkof never become reality. Something like that needs so much investment, i dont expect the Dutch government is willing to spend money on it.

That whole Rekkof venture becomes more desperate with every single that it doesn't win an order. It's already at a point where it's very doubtful that it will ever become reality.

But, if you turn the letters around again you will see that Fokker Technologies, the company that came out of the bankruptcy is doing very good. They are manufacturing parts and systems for several major types of planes from the biggest manufactures like Airbus, Boeing, Dessault, Comac, Lockheed Martin. As well as providing maintenance services to not just the Fokker fleet. they are the reason why there are still many Fokker planes flying.

FOKKER 100 TAY 650 1993 | ROLLS-ROYCE TAY MK 650-15 MACH 0,80 (845 KM/H) | OCEAN AIR PR OAQ

This Fokker 100 jet belonged to Ocean Air (photo). It was purchased from American Airlines which had the N1455K prefix until 2006. Completing 20 years of operation, integrates Avianca's fleet, under the MK-28 remodeling, with cruising speed reduced and so as the maximum take-off weight.

An old F28 belonging to Icaro, a deceased Ecuadorian airline; by the way this airplane suffered an accident (runaway excursion)in 2008 and it’s no longer flying.

Here approaching the old UIO airport with cloudy weather and some rain; notice the speed brake deployed!

One challenge for Rekkof is to create a long-term marketing plan that will eventually help them get orders for the planes...

Now the Russians are back in the spotlight thanks to MS-21 and Sukhoi and the Chinese (COMAC), Canadians (Bombardier), Japanese (Mitsubishi Aerospace and Kawasaki Aerospace) and Brazilians (Embraer) stepping up their grand plans for their respective regional jetliner programmes, what would Rekkof do next?

For the Fokker fans out there, I'm going to post a take-off video I took last year on a Fokker 70. I sat right at the back of the plane next to the engine so you can really hear the engine sound!

Sure thing it's a reliable airplane and still being used all over the world. I saw that in some country it is used as Presidential plane. Although it is being replace with more modern plane but still it is still a good plane to fly.
