TORONTO | 1 Yorkville | 183m | 58 fl | U/C

Address: 1 Yorkville Avenue
Developer: Bazis + Plaza
Architect: Rosario Varacalli

A sneak peak of what`s coming to 1 Yorkville.

Information regarding the façade - tower will feature crimped columns running its full height, and creating a dance of light across the structure's façades: depending on where you view the building from, you'll experience varying effects of light and shadow, and even colour.

More information will be available soon I am sure. The proposal would retain the heritage properties fronting Yonge Street (seen here).

I give it 8/10. Its very different than the cookie cutter condos that are going up everywhere in Toronto.

I might end up liking this more than any of the other Yorkville skyscrapers.

This will look very cool if the facade is anything as shiny as in the renders.

This might see a height increase in exchange for a smaller floor plate. I'm assuming that means the podium not the tower since this is almost sold out already?

80% sold should mean that this one will be U/C soon.
But why is this in the skyscrapers section with 186 meter proposed?

I was wondering that myself. I think we should leave it here for the time being as there are rumours that this might see a height increase in exchange for a smaller floor plate. 5 more floors would put it just over 200m.

Design looks great, even with balconies. That roof patio is so cool.

I'm moving it back to the proposed highrises section for the time being.

the whole tower launched, and reached 80% sales. if we see a height increase it is because they are making the project larger, not because they made the floorplate smaller.

That was one of the issues that the DRP mentioned;

"A final determination of the exact floor plate size is still to come too: the tower is currently proposed at around the 750 square metre upper limit of what the City like to see, but that may change a bit."

"Panel also felt that the proposal would be improved by conforming to the Tall Building Guidelines requirements relating to floor plate size and setback requirements, particularly to the north
– One Member suggested that the consideration of additional height might be a suitable tradeoff if it was to help resolve these issues,..."
