Extell has never been very keen on releasing renders.
That pool looks pretty good though.

Extell Begins Pouring Foundation at 250 South Street Site

Quote:

For months, Extell Development Corp. has been pounding pylons for the new two-tower project at 250 South Street. A patchwork of iron beams dots the site; the beginning of the end. And now comes the first concrete of the project thus far. The foundation pouring began yesterday.

Meanwhile, the rhythmic staccatto of hammering is impossible to escape along the waterfront, and can easily be heard more than five blocks away. We are told that residents in the Seward Park environs are definitely within earshot. So that gives you an idea of the conditions that will continue here for four to six months (at least).

As previously reported, the market-rate monolith was reduced in height from 71 stories to 56. Its sidecar “poor door” building for affordable tenants remains at 13 stories.

Funny how I think "wow this is a huge site" while it's about normal for a project this size if it weren't in NY.

Extell's Lower East Side Tower Dubbed One Manhattan Square

Quote:
Extell's Lower East Side luxury tower at 250 South Street has managed to find some time, in between possibly making the street sink and infuriating the neighbors, to brand itself One Manhattan Square, which is a nonsense name. To be fair, the tower will be located in Manhattan, and there will be one of it. Its relationship to squares, or to one specific square, remains unclear. Manhattan Square is not a thing. Marketing materials drawn up by designer Geoffrey Dahl encourage potential buyers to "Discover," which also doesn't mean anything. If Extell decides not go with One Manhattan Square after all, we have some alternate names to suggest, such as Big Good Tower, Opulent Windows Luxury, or Platinum New York Street.

That's a fairly substantial height increase considering the area and how solitary it may be. (For a while anyway)

This will be a good addition and it is a great location. But - one manhattan square? Horrible name.

Construction Update: Extell’s Controversial 800-Foot Tower Ready to Rise at 250 South Street

Quote:
After being slapped with a partial stop-work order about three weeks ago for causing a local street to sink, Extell’s Lower East Side mega-development at 250 South Street appears to be back on track. A recent visit to the site shows that piles for the building are again being driven into the bedrock. However, it appears excavation will continue to be an arduous journey since most of the parcel sits on landfill and is only a few feet above street level.

Hmm, do they have name for something so contrasting as the put a tall glass-walled building amongst so many red brick projects?

I mean I suppose someone has to make the first step in eventually turning Manhattan into walls of glass.
