This is finally something more classical looking for Jersey City, a pleasant timeless design! Looking forward to see it rise.

Ground Broken For 99 Hudson Street, Jersey City, To Be New Jersey’s Tallest Tower

http://newyorkyimby.com/2016/01/grou...ial-tower.html

Cindy Xu of China Overseas America (in blue) and Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop (to her left) at the groundbreaking for 99 Hudson Street.

Quote:
On Thursday, at a little before noon, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for 99 Hudson Street in Jersey City. Located on a site bounded by Hudson, Grand, Greene, and York streets, the 900-foot-tall mixed-use condominium tower will likely be the tallest building in the state and one of the tallest residential buildings in the entire country. The event not only kicked off construction, but also provided a venue to show off new renderings of the project.

I don't know why nobody has updated this thread in all this year.

From last saturday. Five floors already.

Pictures from april 26th, as you can see it has grown 3 floors in a month and half.

This is because we have two threads for this building. The other one is http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1858558 and all recent updates are there.

Don't ask me why do we need two threads.

Because that thread is in the New Jersey forums. Not everyone goes into the local forums.

It doesn't explain why multiple threads need to be maintained.

I would imagine creating a "placeholder" thread pointing to another one in a different forum. This way you could have threads in all relevant forums but only one is actually active. Probably, it is not possible in a platform we're using.

In english speaking forums isn't that obvious, but there are local forums in many languages,in those people discuss a topic in their language and there could be a different thread in the international forum, in english, so it is accesible to more people.

In this case, both the international and the local (New Jersey) forums are in english. Most threads in local forums are for topics not relevant to the international forums, so only remain there, in the local forum, In this case it is relevant for the International Forum, so the thread is duplicated here, I don't see nothing wrong with that.

Anyway, I am updating the building here, with pictures of the NJ forum.
They are now about to finish the podium, and they are beggining with the tower portion above the podium. We can expect it will rise faster now.

Jersey City skyline is looking rather impressive lately. I was on the Staten Island ferry the other day and as great as the views of Manhattan are from the ferry, I couldn't stop admiring Jersey City! It really has come such a long way in such a short amount of time. I also couldn't help but notice a few cranes, so I went to Google and was happy to find out about this building. I'm very happy to see Jersey City get a new tallest! I remember before the Goldman Sachs tower was built, when there was nothing there. This is all very exciting. I guess the massive NYC skyscraper boom made its way across the Hudson

The podium completed and a few floors of the tower portion. I think than we wil see this building raising quickly now.
Also, they are starting installing the cladding.

Facade going in.

The same angle in the rendering, it seems as the podium has one floor less.

The tower portion has already several floors, like 9 or 10 floors above the podium.

The clading in the podium is advancing.

Nice to see it visible from Battery Park City. Jersey City has a very impressive skyline for a city of it´s population.
