Will Etihad do a bacon sandwich for that price? I didn't think so.

tullamarine I don't think Etihad (or Emirates for that matter) will do a bacon sandwich at any price!!! Qantas customers on Sydney/Melbourne-London lost bacon from the breakfast menu following the Emirates alliance.

BaconButty I finally understand the true horrors of globalization.

Won't be ready before July 2017. The airport has a capacity of 12m, and by the time the midfield terminal opens, passenger traffic would have reached 25m+.

The midfield terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport is being built to cope with increasing passenger traffic.

Abu Dhabi Airports completes steel works on Midfield Terminal Building

Quote:

“With 99% of steel works completed on all four piers, the building structure has become a visible landmark from the air and the ground, for both passengers flying in and out of Abu Dhabi as well as residents driving by,” H.E. Ali Majed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports, commented. “This achievement has allowed us to start the building enclosure around the piers, which will enable the building structure to take its final shape during the course of 2015.”

Just looks magnificent! Cannot wait to travel through this. Architecturally, I think ADH has one upped DXB here.

Terminal will look terrific!
However, it seems that the fad nowadays is to build terminals in "X" shape.

That's true. DXB was built for capacity and maximizing Duty Free revenue. This midfield terminal looks like it was designed with a better passenger experience in mind.

Both comparison is not viable....DXB built with area limited and best optimizing space .......DDF is just part of it.........AUH is having twice area as of DXB .....

Also DXB started expansion from 1998 and AUH in 2008 ...if talking about more then 20 gates with terminals.....!

I notice in the last few weeks, that work has started on the highway interchange at the Yas Island exit on E10 / E11 road.

Does anyone have any design views of this?

Thanks
