NEW BONDWAY SKYSCRAPER UNVEILED
Quote:
Proposals for a new skyscraper on the site of Bondway Self-Storage in Vauxhall were revealed this week. The proposed building, designed by KPF, is shaped like a lowercase ‘h’ and reaches the same 168m height as the two proposed Vauxhall Square towers adjacent to the site. The scheme replaces the previous rejected scheme by architects Make and addresses the issues regarding massing and public amenity of that scheme.
Continues

It seems as if there is a new skyscraper proposal for London every other day lately.

Definitely a nice looking tower.

The current policies in London have over inflated the real estate market, so they better get these various tower projects underway before the bottom falls out.

Property in London hasn't seen a decrease in price during the recession. Infact the reason why the property market is booming so much is that foreign investors see London property as a safe haven. It could drop by 10% in value (which it never will) and still hold more value than a comparative property in any other city which is why so many people are investing.

Indeed. Many businessman and companies alike now choose London as a financial safe haven. This also the reason why hundreds of companies who did have their HQ in other Cities haved moved them to/moving them to London - AON for example are moving there HQ from Chicago to London next year once the Leadenhall Building is complete.

Prices in London did go down during the recession. It is only in the last year they have caught up and now overtaken pre-recession prices. Adding 100,000 to the population every year is an obvious factor in the increase in prices particularly asthe number of new builds is at a very low level.

Ok. It fluttered between 0.5% and 1.5%. Barely noticeable compared to the rest of the UK considering they can rise as much as 8% in a single month.

Yes you're right. London has been quite stable all things considered.

This tower is brilliant. Another one for the future Nine Elms skyline! I would love to see a future Nine Elms skyline graphic showing all of the up to date developments and towers. Would be really interesting to see.

Nine Elms is going to be the best cluster in London, IMO. Great project.
