Since parking is becoming a big problem in JLT they should utilize the whole plot for multiple level underground parking for a few thousand vehicles. The parking should not just serve the people who live in work in JLT, but also have plenty of public parking space.

Hm...If it's gonna be higher then BK, I wouldn't like the location. It won't be the optimal place for the second highest tower worldwide.(After Kingdom Tower)

J(ust) L(ost) in T(raffic)

They already have this in the nearby Nakheel Harbour metro station. They should just build a nice little tram from there to run through JLT. But then again, you can't access the Nakheel Harbour station from JLT. You have to drive off some 10 km and circle around to it even though its just a few hundred meters from the edge of JLT.

Yes, there are:

The Dubai master developer behind Burj 2020, which is set to be the world’s tallest commercial tower, has hit out at fake tender documents been circulated in relation to the project.
Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) issued a statement - headed ‘Clarification on the false and untrue tender documents shamelessly purporting to be on behalf of DMCC’ - in which it warned contractors to be cautious of fake tenders claiming to be offering work on the project.
“There are currently no tenders in the market regarding the planning or construction of the Burj 2020 and final details of the scale of the project have yet to be released by DMCC,” the statement said
“DMCC is the only correct source of information in relation to Burj 2020 and DMCC shall not be responsible for inaccurate information distributed by or obtained from any other party in this respect... Any other source of information should be treated with extreme caution and any enquiries should be made directly to DMCC,” it added.

Construction to start on Burj 2020 tower in 2015

28 January 2014, 6:37 GMT | By Colin Foreman

Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) expects construction work on its Burj 2020 tower project to start in 2015.

“We have put out tender to work with consultants, the architect will be announced this year, and construction will start next year [2015]. It will be built by 2020,” says Ahmed bin Sulayem, Ahmed Sultan Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, DMCC, speaking at MEED’s Destination Dubai 2020 event.

The tower is planned as the world tallest commercial tower. It will be a steel structure meaning that it can be built quickly. “That tower is likely to be a steel structure and very efficient,” says bin Sulayem. “We are leaving nothing to chance with that building.”

For leasing, DMCC expects that the tower will attract large international companies. “It is catering to multi-national corporations that need 10-20 floors,” says Bin Sulayem.

DMCC still considering financing options for Burj 2020 tower

28 January 2014, 7:16 GMT | By Rebecca Spong

Construction of world’s tallest commercial tower due to begin next year

The Dubai Multi-Commodities Centre (DMCC) is still considering various methods of financing the construction of its Burj 2020 tower, which is set to be the tallest commercial building in the world once completed.

Speaking at MEED’s Destination Dubai 2020 event, held in Dubai on 28 January, Ahmed Sultan bin Sulayem, executive chairman of the DMCC, said: “We are in a better position than before and have many different ways of financing [the project] and we are finding a way to make the most of the financing.”

It will be 660m+ tall.
They've said that in the other thread. ''DMCC Commercial Tower'' in the proposed super tall section.

What is that small white building between the right Jumeirah Heights building, Jumeirah island and the border of the springs/meadows. (right of the picture)

They've been building it quietly ... is it a sales center? a gym for the area? community management center?

18 February 2014, 6:28 GMT | By Colin Foreman

There are two other 100-storey-plus towers in the design stage in Dubai. The tallest is the 660-metre-tall, 115-storey Burj 2020. The project client, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), expects construction work on the Burj 2020 tower project to start in 2015.
