Of course it is the final cladding, and it looks the same to me.

Looks the same to me, too. It looks a little shinier in the render, but you'll notice the sky is also a little more blue in the render.

I like the current silver cladding, it looks slightly darker and more purple-y in the render.

Definitely an odd placement for the antenna! (seriously, there is no way that would count as a 'spire'!)

personally, I think the real cladding looks better than the render, which is always a good thing

The design isn't too bad, but it could use a more interesting top- the spire is awkwardly placed, and there isn't any crown.

Personally I think any crown would look extremely awkward on this type of building.

The "simple" look is most likely due to the use of prefabricated elements which are all the same I think. Also, they want it to be build very fast and the best way to do is to use a simple style. The other buildings by Broad look very simple as well.

I think that depends on the crown.

First idea I thought of would be to shorten the spire by half and put one on every corner. Been done, but wouldn't look bad.

I think one of the main goals is to build this type of building as fast en cheap as possible. That is the whole idea of the company behind this. A crown, or any extra architectural features just costs extra money.

Very ugly, as well in proportions as in exterior. This is no architecture anymore, this is just building prefab from the assembly line.

It wouldn't even look that bad if the footprint was the same from bottom to the top, but this huge setback at half height is just pathetic IMO

I know that. But really, they could have sprung for a few subtle architechtural details so the building has at least a shred of design merit.
IMO, it really takes away from their potential speed achievement if all that they can build is value engineered tall boxes.

I think it would look better if there was no setback as well. It would look more imposing.

This is a guess but I'd say about 90 % of skyscrapers are engineered tall boxes. This is the first building, this size, attempted to be build this way.
I think broad have enough issues constructing this, without throwing in anymore curve balls

No, I don't think 90% percent if buildings are value engineered boxes. Most new buildings have more details than this one.

And lastly, if the single merit this building is to have is constructional celerity, than perhaps they should start working at the speed promised.
Based on updates, it appears this project currently has neither astounding design nor speed.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not badmouthing the project. I'm just saying that they should add some detail to the design. A bland, uninspired design takes away from any potentially innovative construction methods so as to make the building appear rather lackluster in retrospect.
Especially if it isn't even built fast.

There are so many ugly buildings with "architecture". I like simple buildings. Not everybody is rich.
