Hopefully all the criticism toward Broad can be put to rest now that we can see visible progress on this project. I know it is not Sky City but once this building is finished, I believe Sky City will move forward not too long afterward, maybe start in the second half of 2014.

If this picture is recent then it didn't grow any faster than any regularly built tower.

might have been on hold for some time and only recently started up again, if not the progress is not anywhere close they say of what they say is possible for them. but then again it just started and just look how many cranes are on the picture, which is an indication for a speed up of the project hopefully. in the end i am just happy to see that the project is rising at all. no pictures made me worry this was completely on hold.

Well, yeah, I'm happy about every supertall going up, but with all the hype I was hoping for a little more.

That tree in the picture has not lost any leaves. Normal for this area in January?

I hope real Sky City will rise soon. Media don´t care about hundreds of 300m+ buildings, but just about No1. supertall(s). And China needs some promotion for it´s architecture. I hope Sky City will be finished 31.12.2014, in the same date like Shanghai tower. Maybe it will be interesting for mass media and general public will also learn about Shanghai Tower. But who knows, i saw Shanghai skyline in TV only twice, in the first case I could hardly see some skyline due to smog and in the second case the TV moderator talked about Hong Kong when showing Shanghai pictures However, I hope Sky City, finished at the same time like Shanghai Tower, would be great promotion for People's Republic of China

They are putting up 6 tower cranes. This should go up very fast!

On Gaoloumi they moved J97 thread to the U/C forum. Which to me is a big deal because it is very accurate.

This should be up 20-30 stories now if it is at a constant construction speed.

A little off topic but why was the tV moderator talking about HK when showing pictures of Shanghai? This is beyond sloppy I guess they assumed that most people couldn't tell the difference or worst didn't know the difference themselves.

" A picture tells a thousand words" so images are powerful tools , showing misleading or outdated images to make a point about a place or situation in the present is an age old media ploy.

Confusing Shanghai and HK is like confusing London and NYC and these guys jobs is to inform?

A photo update would be nice, I expect when it gets high enough then we'll see.
