STOCKHOLM | Bremen Tower | 32 fl | Pro

Bremen Tower
Värtan, Östermalm

A new tower may be built in Värtan, the territory of the new mixed-use area Norra Djurgårdsstaden [already U/C] of Stockholm, Sweden. The building is supposed to be 32 floors high, divided by four sections (8 floors each). The lowest section would be reserved as the office space and the rest would be used as a residential area. An open to everyone skybar is planned to be constructed on the uppermost floor.
Interesting detail: a 170 m. (47 fl.) skyscraper "Gasklockan" [arch.: Herzog & de Meuron] will be constructed nearby.

The architects are: Humlegården Fastigheter och 3XN Arkitekter.

Area
34.000 m2

Year
2013

More information: 3XN, Humlegården, Stockholm & Projekt.

One diamond and three triangles

This 32-storey high-rise in Stockholm is characterised by a dis*tinctive vertical division into four parts: the lower section, contain*ing offices, is diamond-shaped in order to cater to the wonder*ful views as well as the daylight conditions for the surrounding buildings, while the three upper sections, comprising dwellings, are designed as equilateral triangles. These three elements each rotate 20 degrees in order to give the dwellings varied views.

The facade will be made of a combination of glass and white alu*minium. Indoor climate-enhancing solutions will be an important part of the facade’s architectural character and design.

Visual connection between ten office floors

The building’s division is emphasised further by four precision cut-outs in each section. The cut-out in the lower office sec*tion creates the main entrance, a restaurant and a passage around the building connecting it to the local community, Norra Djurgårdsstaden. The office section will be centred on an open atrium, thus providing visual contact with the ten office floors.

Roof-top terrace and sky bar

The second cut-out creates a public space (such as a café) with a generous wooden roof-top terrace above the office section. Like*wise, the balconies of the dwellings are all made of hardwood. The third cut-out creates a common area exclusive to the resi*dents of the building. Here there will be room for a large dining room, a gym and more. The fourth and upper cut-out creates a sky bar which will be open to the public and provide a magnifi*cent view of Stockholm.

It reminds me a bit of the City of Capitals in Moscow, great design though.

Hmm. Actually, the Bremen Tower may be the first one that is more round in Stockholm area.

Like it. Thought about it as bit clumsy at first, trying to hard to be "creative". But we need more wild design and diversity in the high-rise architecture in Stockholm, so i approve
