It's Dragados, so it wouldn't be a surprise if they started even half a year after signing the contract We'll see.

Will the DTS be access-controlled? If it is, I would add it.
Access-controlled, grade-separated, except for the last junction (roundabout)

That's how it looks like:

In case you decide to include it, here is the modified list:

DW902 (DTŚ): Zabrze Sybirakow roundabout - Zabrze Roosevelta/Gliwice Sikorskiego 12 2.7km (May 2012 to 9th August 2014) – projectmap
DW902 (DTŚ): Zabrze Roosevelta/Gliwice Sikorskiego - Gliwice Kujawska 12 3.2km (July 2012 to October 2014) – projectmap
DW902 (DTŚ): Gliwice Kujawska - Gliwice Jezioranskiego (DK88) 12 5.6km (December 2012 to Late 2015) – projectmap

If you want to include this, what about other grade-separated access-controlled 2x2 roads that are not part of A/S network, for example western entrance to Lublin?

Ok. I will add it but please keep me up-to-date about the "real" construction start.

The definition of motorways or expressways is individual for each country. The list contains grade-separated, access-controlled roads with a barrier b/n the two carriageways.

btw: All sections which have been opened since 1st January 2014.

I think I should add a precise definition to the first post of this thread.

DK89: Tunnel under Martwa Wisla in Gdansk 12 2.4km (October 2011 to June 2015) – projectmap
DK19: Lublin-Slawinek (S12/S17/S19) - Lublin aleja Warszawska 12 5.8km (August 2012 to September 2014) – projectmap
(not sure about the road number, temporarily should be DK19)

+ some upgrade works of not-access-controlled-nor-grade-separated-roads in case that counts:

1x2 -> 2x2 grade-separated
DK8: Bialystok Produkcyjna - Bialystok city limits 12 2.0km (May 2013 to October 2014) – projectmap

2x2 -> 2x2 grade-separated
DK1: Tychy (within city limits) 12 6.9km (September 2011 to July 2014) – projectmap

Teeny tiny correction for opening days of Italian A35 and first stretch of A58: not the 22nd but the 23rd of July.

The list has been updated

See first post: > click <.

Definition added:

Quote:
The definition of motorway and expressway status is country-specific. The subsequent definition describes the pre-conditions which must be fulfilled to add new projects.

New motorways and expressways are projects which are currently under construction or have been opened since 1st January 2014.
The pre-conditions to be added to the list is, that the future road will
- feature 2 carriageways with each 2 lanes
- be grade-separated
- be access-controlled
It doesn't matter if the future road will feature hard shoulders.
A median is not mandatory but there must be a fixed barrier between the carriageways, for instance guard railing.
If a 2nd carriageway is planned but not yet u/c, the project is added if the other pre-conditions - except barrier - are already fulfilled.
Projects which were under construction but are suspended now, are added too, if the completion is still planned by the countries demand plan.
In addition, roads will be added which will be rededicated to motorway or expressway status of the respective country.
Widening projects are not included.

Trans Canada in BC isn't being built to motorway standards. Most roads in western Canada aren't built to motorway standards, they contain low traffic at grade intersections, though when driving them they provide just as high speeds and quality of driving as a motorway and often have speed limits of 110+km/h.

If I count the dual carriageway roads being built in western Canada that are essentially motorways in operation I could add several hundred km to the list.

After 2015... Ha. It has opened today! Source (Spanish). This time is full motorway, totally isolated as works on adjacent sections either haven't started yet (Sabinanigo East-West) or are halted (Jabarrella reservoir-Sabinanigo South).

Edit, Here is the official press release, also in Spanish.

They are basically at-grade freeways, often with no speed limit reduction at minor intersections. This road type is uncommon in Europe. Only Europe has such a strong division between motorways and non-motorways.

Just for clarification:
By access-controlled you mean that bikes, tractors etc. are not allowed?

If so, then existing parts of upgaded DK8/65 in Białystok are not access-controlled, so I guess that the new one won't be also...

About DK1 - I don't know, we need to wait until they put the signage

If access-controlled means no access to individual properties along the road, then yes, both roads are access-controlled.
