I just checked some recent press articles and it seems both of you are right.

http://elcorreoweb.es/el-segundo-tra...tubre-LA615836

Unfortunately construction of the viaduct linking the northern and southern sections has not started. Therefore the current autovía will be extended only 1.5 km to the roundabout you see in the image.

Ok. Please provide as accurate data as possible. It would be great to get it in the required format . You can/should notify all roads which fulfill the pre-conditions:

Quote:
New motorways and expressways are projects which are currently under construction or have been opened since 1st January 2014.
The pre-conditions to be added to the list are, that the future road:
- must feature 2 carriageways with each 2 lanes
- must be grade-separated
- should be access-controlled
It doesn't matter if the future road will feature hard shoulders.
A median is not mandatory but there must be a fixed barrier between the carriageways, for instance guard railing.
If a 2nd carriageway is planned but not yet u/c, the project is added if the other pre-conditions - except barrier - are already fulfilled.
Projects which were under construction but are suspended now, are added too, if the completion is still planned by the countries demand plan.
In addition, roads will be added which will be rededicated to motorway or expressway status of the respective country.
Widening projects are not included.
The opening date does not refer to the completion of the works but to the official opening of the road.
Please keep in mind that ChrisZwolle is reading this thread and he's very sensitive if roads don't fulfill the standards, e.g. if there are U turns et cetera.

Ha, it's your list

But U-turns / stretched roundabouts do not belong on motorways in my opinion. Although this eliminates many projects in South America and Asia.

Oh well, its like discussing how OpenStreetMap should tag roads. Its a good thing, to have some rules. But if they are too tight, you cover no roads in some countries, wich fulfill the same purpose. If you have no rules, you don't know where to start and where to end.

So sometimes it is a good idea to keep one eye shut about the rules, so the list could give information, which otherwise simply would be lost. But its a good thing also, that there is someone, who plays the bad cop.

To mark all roads in the list according to higher or lower standard wold be a solution, but would increase work very much.

Its the same with the seriousness of information. If german or western european standards must be fulfilled, the list would not contain much about the balkans or romania. and BY or Pakistan would be totally uncovered.

The national law is also differing in strictness. If you want to allow local traffic to use a important bridge etc. the german solution means to spare this small section out of the motorway, because the rules are too strict. Other countries are less sensitiv. This happens in many other cases also. Southern ring of Chemnitz is no trunk road which would fit the list, because there are never two levelfree crossings following each other. But the distance in between is short, accellerating lanes are short etc. Nobody would question, that motorways would fit the list, even if some of them end in a roundabout, or contain one, like motorways in germany did earlier (Echterdinger Ei, Horner Kreisel old end of A1). Its impossible to keep the rules too strict without missing the purpose of any list.....

That's not too much of a problem in Iran at least. "Freeways" are classified having standards equivalent to that of European nations. Divided, certain width, need to be accompanied by a "free-of-toll charge" alternative (aka old road), meaning a simple upgrade and twinning of a road would not make it a Freeway, less than 6% slope, certain turning radius, no at-grade intersections.

Poland - new

S3: south of Zielona Góra-North – north of Zielona Góra-South () 2.8km (October 2015 to May 2018) [2nd c/w] – projectmap

S3: south of Zielona Góra-South – Niedoradz 8.km (April 2015 to August 2017) [2nd c/w] – projectmap

(The section Sulechów - Zielona Góra-North, which already is on the list, should be then renamed to Sulechów - north of Zielona Góra-North? Or even south of Sulechów - north of Zielona Góra-North? Also there is a bridge on Oder which has a different completion date than the rest of this section.)

Italian viceminister for infrastructures, Riccardo Nencini, stated few days ago that "Variante di Valico is going to open in December 2015". His statement is quite generic, and nobody believes that the whole Variante will be actually opened. However, many people, also here in the Italian forum, believe that at least one stretch (Barberino-Aglio, 6.5 km) can be opened. Differently from the rest of the Variante, which is a whole new motorway 2+2, the Barberino-Aglio stretch is just a new (southbound) carriageway with 3 lanes + emergency. The current motorway will be used only northbound, much alike A1 near Florence.

Oh and officially it is Draženci - Gruškovje (or Draženci Podlehnik) not Ptuj - Podlehnik

Thanks .

Sorry, I'm not familar with Argentinian or South American motorway/expressway standards. I know that most of the currently u/c Brazilian "motorways" do not fulfill the definition of the Vienna Convention because of U turns.

Do the roads of your list have U turns? Are tractors, bicycles or pedestrians allowed to use the road or are they access-controlled et cetera?

I think I should improve my definition (see first post):

The pre-conditions to be added to the list are based on the Convention on road traffic done at Vienna on 8th November 1968. The future road:
- must feature 2 carriageways with each 2 lanes
- must be grade-separated
- should be access-controlled
- does not have U turns to travel in reverse
It doesn't matter if the future road will feature hard shoulders.
...
Generally, I'd only like to add new countries if news are generally posted in the Highway & Autobahns forum because I cannot follow all news. Almost all projects of the Argentinian list have an unknown opening date. Is there no estimated completion date or contract deadline?

@Chris: What do you think about adding Argentian projects?

Once, you've posted an Argentinian motorway opening: > click < (it was in 2014. That means the project should also be added to the list). In addition, I'm not sure about another 2014 opening post: > click <.
