Gole dell'Alcantara, Parco del fiume Alcantara - Sicilia

The Alcantara is a river in Sicily. It has its source on the south side of Monti Nebrodi and its mouth in the Ionian Sea at Capo Schiso in Giardini-Naxos. The river is 52 km long.
The name Alcantara is of Arabic origin (al Qanţara - the Bridge) and refers to a bridge from Roman times found by the Arabs.Thucydides called it Akesines Potamos while its Latin names were "Assinus or Assinos" and "Onobala".Cantera was another hydronym adopted by Normans.
The Alcantara has its source at an altitude of 1250m in the municipality of Floresta. On its way to the sea, past the north of Mount Etna, it flows through the municipalities of Randazzo, Mojo Alcantara, Francavilla di Sicilia, Motta Camastra, Castiglione di Sicilia, Graniti, Gaggi, Calatabiano, Taormina and Giardini-Naxos.
Several thousand years ago, the river bed was blocked by a lava flow from Mount Etna. As the lava was cooled much more quickly by the water than it would have done otherwise, it crystallised in the form of columns. Over the next millennia, the river naturally eroded a channel through these columns, resulting in impressive gorges and ravines such as the "Gole dell'Alcantara".(wikipedia)

Stadio dei Marmi, Roma - Lazio

The Stadio dei Marmi ( "Stadium of the Marbles") is a sport stadium in the Foro Italico, a sport complex in Rome, Italy.

It was designed in the 1920s as a complement to the annexed Academy of Physical Education (now the seat of CONI, Italian Olympic Committee), to be used by its students for training. Originally designed by Enrico Del Debbio, construction was completed in 1928. It has Carrara marble steps lined by 59 (60 in the original project) marble statues in classical style portraying athletes, each offered by the provinces of Italy.

The stadium was inaugurated in 1932. It hosted some of the field hockey preliminaries for the 1960 Summer Olympics.

Stadio dei Marmi was also the host for the 2009 World Aquatics Championships opening ceremony.

Parco Italia in Miniatura, Viserba (Rimini) - Emilia Romagna

Italia in Miniatura is a leisure and miniature park in Viserba, a part of Rimini (Italy).

The park displays 273 miniatures of famous Italian and European buildings in scale 1:25 and 1:50. The area is surrounded by Arcobaleno (Italian: rainbow), a monorail. 10,000 plants and 5,000 miniature trees are integrated in the landscape. To fill the water basins 2,500 m3 of water are needed. 17 miniature trains are running in the system.

On an area of 12,000 m2 there is a replica of the Grand Canal of Venice with reproductions of 119 buildings in scale of 1:5. The campanile on St. Mark's Square has a height of 20 metres.

In Cannonacqua, a replica of the Castel Sismondo in Rimini, medieval battles between the noble families of Montefeltro and Malatesta with water cannons can be replayed.

There are also the log flume Canoe, the parrot park Pappamondo, as well as the Luna Park della scienza with physical experiments for children. Since 2011 the project YouMini miniaturizes parc visitors in scale 1:33.

Basilica della Santa Casa, Loreto - Marche

The Basilica della Santa Casa (English: Basilica of the Holy House) is a Catholic place of pilgrimage in Loreto, Italy, containing the house in which the Virgin Mary lived.
The basilica is a Late Gothic structure continued by Giuliano da Maiano, Giuliano da Sangallo and Donato Bramante. It is 93 meters long, 60 meters wide, and its campanile is 75.6 meters high.

The façade of the church was erected under Sixtus V, who fortified Loreto and gave it the privileges of a town (1586); his colossal statue stands in the middle of front steps. Over the principal doorway is a life-size bronze statue of the Virgin and Child by Girolamo Lombardo; the three superb bronze doors executed at the latter end of the 16th century and under Paul V (1605–1621) are also by Lombardo, his sons and his pupils, among them Tiburzio Vergelli, who also made the fine bronze font in the interior. The doors and hanging lamps of the Santa Casa are by the same artists.

The richly decorated campanile (1750 to 1754), by Vanvitelli, is of great height; the principal bell, presented by Leo X in 1516, weighs 11 tons. The interior of the church has mosaics by Domenichino and Guido Reni and other works of art, including statues by Raffaello da Montelupo. In the sacristies on each side of the right transept are frescoes, on the right by Melozzo da Forlì, on the left by Luca Signorelli. In both are fine intarsias. The basilica as a whole is thus a collaborative work by generations of architects and artists
