Chiesa del Santissimo Corpo di Cristo, Brescia - Lombardia

This beautiful church is usually defined as the Sistine Chapel of Brescia because of the scenic views affinities with the work of Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel in Rome. The interior of the building was completely painted during the sixteenth century by Benedetto da Marone and later enlarged and enriched by Pietro Maria Bagnadore.
The church and monastery are now run by the Xaverian Fathers.

Santuario della Madonna dei Boschi, Boves - Piemonte

The origin of the shrine, located in Boves, is medieval.
In the second half of the fifteenth century the chapel was frescoed with a series dedicated to the stories of the Virgin and Child Jesus The author is called "Master of Mary of the Woods of Boves", this being the major cycle that we know of him.
The fresco of the Last Judgement dates to the second half of the sixteenth century . This last artwork provides many quotations from the masterpiece by Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel, and also offers several examples of figures not yet covered, as the ones showed in the Sistine Chapel before the finishing touches of "Braghettone" of 1564. This fresco is attributed to the "Master of Cigliè”( www.madonnadeiboschi.org )

Chiesa di Santa Maria della Purità, Gallipoli - Puglia

The church of Santa Maria della Purità is an old town church of Gallipoli located in front of the Purità beach. It was built between 1662 and 1665 at the behest of the brotherhood of Bastasi ( dockers). In those years it was built the one nave Oratory later modified and expanded.
The interior, with a single rectangular nave, decorated with sumptuous stuccoes, houses a marble altar on which is placed a painting by Luca Giordano depicting the Madonna of Purity between St. Joseph and St. Francis of Assisi. The nave is completely covered with eighteenth-century paintings on canvas attributed to Oronzo Letizia and for the most part to Liborio Riccio. On the vault there are paintings depicting scenes from the Apocalypse. Interesting are the wooden stalls with polychrome decoration of the eighteenth century and the nineteenth-century majolica floor.

Rotonda di San Tomè in Limine , Almenno San Bartolomeo - Lombardia

The Rotonda di San Tomè is a church in the comune of Almenno San Bartolomeo, in the province of Bergamo, Lombardy, Northern Italy.
One of the most notable examples of Romanesque architecture in northern Italy, the Rotonda di San Tomè has a central plan with a pyramidal composition, with three cylindrical volumes put one above the other. The second volume constitutes the matronaeum, a women's gallery, and has flat pilasters on its wall. The third volume is the lantern, with four elegant mullioned windows.

To the rear of the Rotonda are the rectangular presbytery and semi-circular apse. The whole structure is lit by slit windows and small arched windows.

The interior has eight columns in a circle creating two concentric spaces. The wall enclosing them has niches marked by semi-columns with elegant capitals. Traces of frescoes can still be seen.

The upper matronaeum has also eight columns which creates a circular ambulatory facing the central hollow of the lower section. It has also a small apse with traces of frescoes. The capitals on both floors, and the portal, have well sculpted zoomorphic, human and geometric figures

The church has a circular plan and is in the Lombard-Romanesque style, dating from the early 12th century, and dedicated to St. Thomas the Apostle.

Abbazia di Sant'Egidio , Fontanella - Lombardia

The episcopal chapel of Sant'Egidio, already annexed to the abbey of Cluny suppressed in 1473, is a Catholic place of worship located in Fontanella in the municipality of Sotto il Monte Giovanni XXIII, in the province of Bergamo.

The church, that was a parish until 1998, is currently the home of the bishop's rectory, belonging to the diocese of Bergamo.

The Sant'Egidio chapel is an example of Romanesque style in Bergamo's area which is also expressed in the nearby roundabout of San Tome in Almenno San Bartolomeo.

The building has a basilican structure with three aisles separated by two rows of round arches resting on stone columns with carved capitals; both the naves are covered with ceiling wooden trusses, with the exception of the final area (area in which, above the median nave, is the bell tower with a square base. On the back wall of the nave, over the arch of the apse is a fine wooden crucifix by Pietro Bussolo (1515).

The building has three naves culminating in three apses slightly ornate outside. The internal walls have remains of frescoes of the XV and XV

Chiesa di San Pietro in Consavia, Asti - Piemonte

The church of San Pietro in Consavia, or Baptistery of St. Peter's Complex, is a Catholic church of Asti, in Corso Vittorio Alfieri, it consists of three buildings dating from the twelfth century and the fourteenth century located at the eastern end of the Via Maestra Borgo San Pietro.

The complex, for centuries the seat of the Priory of Lombardy of Jerusalem, houses the archaeological and paleontological museum of the city.

The complex of San Pietro Baptistery is mainly made up of three buildings: the fifteenth-square church, adjacent to the Rotunda with its tower of the mid-twelfth century and the nearby cloister (of which a part was destined to Pilgrim Hospital) and a
Priory House, which currently houses the Archaeological and Paleontological Museum of Asti.

The Holy Sepulcher Rotonda is a brick and sandstone building; the inner perimeter, a circular plan, consists of eight columns, linked together by arches, the external perimeter is polygonal. The central dome rests on an octagonal drum.

ROME / Vatican by night - great documentary (in Italian language, but with beautiful images)

The magnificent St. Peter Basilica's dome, the sublime "Pietà", the frescoes of Sistine Chapel and the gardens immersed in the quiet of the night. The works of Michelangelo, Raffello, Bernini and other artists. The spaces closed to the tourists (like the Secret Archive, the Gendarmerie, the Barracks of the Swiss Guards).
