Considering that Ingels' 2WTC has the same ammount of square footage and its sheer size, this tower coul have similar dimensions. That means a +1300 ft bulky tower. And that's not taking into account it could feature a huge crown/spire/both like One Vandy, it could en up around 1500ft. (Yeah, im being too optimistic)

I don't think 1500' is too optimistic. It might not end up quite that tall but it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility. The Nordstrom tower already broke that barrier, perhaps this one will too. With an architectural element it's even more possible.

In any case I hope it ends up at least 100' higher than 30HY just to stick out a little.

The architect hasn't been released yet right? I think this will easily break 1,500 roof height. Just by how much is what I am wondering

An over 1500ft. roof with 61 floors? Doubtful, that would result in floor heights of almost 25ft.

61 floors is nothing final.

I used to think that this site was never going to get anything exciting with all the back and forth, but with the renewed interest and the amount of construction in the area - it may be a developers chance to come in and do something amazing with those air rights.

I know that, but 61 floors is the only number we have to even speculate from right now. That being said, a 1500ft. roof is unlikely. Not impossible, but unlikely.

I think it is better to speculate based off of the total floor area than the floors.

Well, that would depend on the size of the floorplates. If they were small enough, this could easily be 2000ft. But that's not likely.

I really think this building (or some building) needs to break 2,000 feet with no less than 1,800 to the roof. The reason is by 2020, NYC will have so many buildings between 1,000 and 1,500 feet (which is amazing, don't get me wrong) but nothing that will really soar among the rest. We need a new grand tower that will rise above the supertall plateau setting a new benchmark for the skyline, just as the ESB did over 80 years ago.

Eventually it will look like it did in the movie The Fifth Element.

Hudson Spire Now has 3.1 million square feet.

http://therealdeal.com/blog/2015/08/...tower-for-30m/

According to the article Tishman Speyer bought more air rights for their Hudson yards property increasing the total amount to 3.1 million square feet. However they released a statement saying that they only plan to use 2.9 million.

I don't think they purchased those air rights for the fun of it so I believe that this tower will be 3.1 million square feet.

Either way it should be a really big tower, but if it's fat it might now be over 400 meters. How big is the lot?

I really do hope to see the ~1300' Hudson Yards tower topped by at least 150 feet or so

2.9 million ft sounds like 1300-1400 ft tower to me. otherwise it should be way too thick.
