277 5th, the mid block parcel that the developer had not acquired, has been vacated. Thus, the developer now has every parcel on 5th, but for the large one on the south corner, which was never part of the plan. I would not be surprised if this tower is 300m+.

Moreover, the design that Yimby previously disclosed is obsolete, as it was limited to the footprint of 279 and 281 5th, which was necessitated by the developer's lack of title to 277 5th.

I walked by today and observed that while the ground floor tenant vacated 277 5th, the second floor is still occupied, though it's a matter of time before they vacate. Similarly, the developer owns 4 E 30th, which is still occupied but will be razed.

Haha very true. At least TRY to be incognito lol.

The rendering makes it look about the same height as the stone part of ESB (~1050'). Maybe Robert's right and we'll get another supertall.

I don't think he really cares if anyone knows. He will just come back on another account anyway.
As for the tower I am afraid those renders may be outdated. Who knows maybe it's the same maybe it's even taller!

Yikes!! Boring. The only thing that I think seems interesting is the base. I really hope this is not final.

432 Park is awesome and unique, but this and potentially 125 Greenwich??? I gotta say it's lazy & unimaginative & I seriously don't know if I can take another Vinoly simple box. He's gotta do much better.

that has to be some sort of massing model, no? Though I guess that's what we were thinking about 432 Park... Looks like it's going to be One-point-five Madison.

I agree. But why do you say 1.5 Madison?

You took the words out of my mouth.
I don't think this is the final design, but if it turns out I'm wrong and this and 125 Greenwich (especially) turn out like copies of 432 Park, Vinoly should be put in the same category as Gene Kaufman, a damn hack! And needs to be driven out of town.

Vinonly has made some nice buildings too, which makes this even more of a slap in the face.

As dull and uninspired as Vi˝oly's design is, it could even be worse: http://www.psfk.com/2015/06/resident...udio-dror.html

As an Uruguayan, I'm a huge fan of Rafael Vi˝oly... Maybe he repeats his idea of slim, tall and square buildings, but if it works... Why not? Greetings from Montevideo, Uruguay...

Equipment is at the site. Demo is occurring, and scaffolding will be added (9/29) permit. Hopefully we can see steel by December.

Along with the scaffolding, demo permits where filed today (October 2nd) So... this is definitely moving in the right direction.

Assuming no proposals go through, for sake of comparison, this when finished, will be the 61st tallest building in the city. Great times ahead.
