There is a relative lack of freeways in Seattle proper, since most were cancelled after citizen protest (thank god for that).

Classic photo location taken from Rizal Park on Beacon Hill

But already out of date.

Downtown Seattle as seen from West Seattle on a crystal clear, if cold, New Year's Day.

Still one of my favorite skylines (and city). The scale, the density, the architecture all seem to fit the surroundings of Mt. Rainier and Puget Sound.

Beautiful scenery, but the skyline looks a bit dull. 6.5/10. There are better skylines in the US.

9/10 - IDK why but I'm so drawn to this city. I read a post on another sub-forum that says that it's the second city after Dubai with the highest amount of skyscrapers being built. Is this true?

Great looking city, indeed! I'd be surprised if that were true, though.

No, we're not building on that scale at all. But it's the biggest downtown boom we've ever had.

I count 12 towers of 398' to 660' in height going up currently in greater Downtown Seattle. Five more have completed in Seattle since the boom started. Off the top of my head another 28 have showed at least some entitlement or permitting activity in the last year or so between 420' and 1,111' in height.

We only have one area outside Downtown that does towers of that height, Downtown Bellevue. They're doing a couple currently around 450'.

Has potential to be the best in the Pacific Northwest.. only needs to build more density.

I assume you're counting SF as being in the NW? I can't think of any other skylines that would be a candidate for the title, but I've always found it weird to call SF a PNW city since it's geographically so separate, with SF being closer to LA than to Portland.

I don't like the skyline, it's very bland. If it wasn't for the space needle nobody would recognize it. Their new development "boom" seems to consist of a lot of bland architecture as well.

5/10

I was thinking Vancouver. For me, Vancouver has the better skyline of the two atm.

Vancouver has density over Seattle without question. I like that Seattle has height though..... something Vancouver with it's strict height restrictions will never have.
