Why is this? Is it just the design or the width of the towers?
I think it's because it's the widest cluster of any in Europe. And because the towers are not as tall as many of the ones being build today. Still my favorite though

Compare with Moscow. That is by far the tallest skyline but it looks even taller because it's relatively narrow.

Off topic: I thought Benidorm had a dense skyline. That was until I saw the density at the beach. What a relaxing way to spend your holiday, Yaaaaark.

Yes, it's because there are a lot of buildings but not really a lot of height differences between them. When Hermitage (323m*2) and Phare (300m) will be built, i guess it will be fantastic. So far the tallest tower is First, 231 meters, but it looks more like 200m because of its structure (very thin top).

There are far less square boring blocks over here in Europe.
Europe does not want skyscrapers. Asia is forced to have them from lack of building space. Skyscrapers are danger-es buildings and aesthetically questionable. Few cities in Europe are planing those as office buildings. There are height restrictions in Europe and population of Europe is not growing so there will be no need for them.

Europe as a whole isn't really growing, but the major metropolises and even midsize cities are. So of course there's a need to go taller and denser in places like London, Paris, Berlin, Frankfurt and Milano. We really shouldn't sprawl out like American suburbia.
