You should not underestimate Ekaterinburg. He will fight to the top in this topic in 5-10 years. I think it will be the seventh after Moscow (1) Istanbul (2) Paris (3) London (4) Frankfurt (5) Warsaw (6). It will be 7 best Skyline in 2025 that none can match. Others will be very far away, and they will be considered only on the basis of personal preference.
Don't forget about Rotterdam. Milan has also some potential
Dont forget that few 250+ won't make skyline.
MAdrid is the best example that a few towers do not make impressive skyline
U forgot also that ekatineburg is rather in asian part of Russia.

I have one observation that Moscow has very comparable skyline to Los Angles ( this massive cluster of highrises) and soon is going to overtake it

I meant its skyline now, it's just a handful of towers.

How many projects of 100+ are there now? I guess it still trails behind Moscow a lot (talking about the quality of architecture aside: here London is definitely ahead).

Sorry for having hurt your feelings. No, I'm not at all hostile. I love London and in late 1990s I considered it one of the best cities on Earth. I love it's new skyscrapers, too, very stylish and elegant. But o really can't take in why people say it's skyline is the best in Europe. Sure, everyone can have their opinion but I really don't see a skyline as it is. It's just a handful, yes, two handfuls of towers.

I use this post as reference, can't remember where original information has came from:

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...7&postcount=86

Provided there about 8 new projects above 100 m started in London since summer I would stay total number of U/C is about 20 now.

Plus this:http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...3&postcount=92 show that London is above the rest in Europe (EU) in terms of 150m plus buildings.

So it's not empty, comparing to Paris or Frankfurt, of course. Yes, if you compare to Asian city, I would agree, but as I said, just coming back from Dubai, I even felt that London is more dynamic in terms of construction right now.

And this is probably partly answers your question above, why people are choosing London as one of best skyline in Europe. I believe many people here like dynamic skylines, where you can see 30-40 cranes in one shot and you can see buildings growing fast and this is exactly what London can offer right now. Often, people loose interest when skyline is static or building has completed and stop following it.

Milan skyline is not completed yet. CityLife second cluster it's only at 1/6. it will be the second cluster of the city in extention, but the first in density and height. and Porta nuova cluster is still not completed, even if it misses only some low rise buildings (80-100 m) that will increase the density of the cluster. and there is a big area between the 2 clusters that will have to be retrained. more skyscrapers will probably rise there

When people say things like this, it often seems that is what they intended to do. Someone simply made an observation and stated it as such. Where did they say you hurt their feelings?
