I don't support this off-topic conversation but I can't stand without saying LOL to this sentence.

It is apparently true. The link below is a PDF from a study conducted for the UK parliament.

https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...,d.ZGU&cad=rja

If you don't want to download the PDF, the figures below:

Country | Rank | Manufacturing Output (Bil. $) | Per Head ($) | % National Output | % World Output

US 1 1,912 5,950 12% 21%
China 2 1,623 1,178 31% 18%
Japan 3 960 7,547 19% 11%
Germany 4 632 7,634 24% 7%
South Korea 5 308 6,281 31% 3%
Italy 6 259 4,247 16% 3%
UK 7 233 3,692 10% 3%
France 8 232 3,500 10% 3%
India 9 197 159 14% 2%
Mexico 10 161 1,335 18% 2%
Brazil 11 147 742 13% 2%
Canada 12 143 4,111 11% 2%
Spain 13 140 2,997 13% 2%
Russia 14 136 947 15% 1%
Taiwan 15 135 5,818 26% 1%
Turkey 16 113 1,520 18% 1%
Indonesia 17 107 433 24% 1%
Switzerland 18 84 10,442 19% 1%
Poland 19 83 2,181 17% 1%
Netherlands 20 81 4,864 13% 1%

So as you see, Italy produces slightly more than Britain or France in absolute terms, but that's because the sector makes up much more of the Italian economy. Britain and France rely more on the service sector.

/ off topic.

This PDF shows recent figures, I talk about Industrial Revolution.

Now, the situation seems like a misunderstanding between Countach and Doğu,

You are justified to not know these things because you maybe come from a very different culture, but you could easily make a quick research in internet before writing nonsense.

His English was a bit fussy so it was really unclear what he was aiming to say. Anyway, I love both Spain and Italy and I wish the best for entire Europe.

Italy's the second manufacture power in EU. I think that France has a stronger industry than us.

However we like sunbathing and chasing girls on the beach while Germans work their butt off. They didn't even colonize anywhere. I really admire their work discipline. Germans and Japanese.

And that data is quite out of date. Obviously some countries are doing better than others, but hopefully the stronger economy equates to more skyscraper development.

You've got to admire Poland. 20 years ago we were in total out-of-date industrial Soviet-Russian ass**le. Now (after early 90's shock and total shift) our economy is based on services, but manufacturing output is still growing. And our industries are finally modern, we can compete on european markets with no shame. That's a big step I think.

Poland can thank European Union. The Poles collect the biggest financial support from EU.
Nice recovery though.

I think that Poland is making enormous efforts, and this is to be admired, it is true. But as you said the Eastern European countries receive many money from the EU. I don't know the data of other nations, but for example Italy gives to the EU about 15 billion each year and only 60% returns back, sometimes. Furthermore, the fact that in Western Europe there are many Eastern immigrants means that they send a part of the money they earn in the West, in their native countries of the East. In fact, countries such as France, Italy, Germany and The United Kingdom loose every year about from 5 to 2 billions euro per country, while the countries of Eastern Europe receive this money and therefore itss a good factor for them.

Yeah, and how much GDP are those people working in old EU countries make? A lot. And how many qualified workers Poland lose when they emigrate? A lot.
Everything has it's bright and dark sides.

As for the moneys from EU - we get the most, because we are the biggest new country in EU, I think that is logical. But you have to use this money well. We do, having the biggest accumulated GDP growth in EU since 2004 from what I can remember.

And old EU countries are paying for us, yes (not forever tho) but on the other side you got new, big markets. And as we are getting wealthier, more and more of this money is going back to you. Directly and indirectly.

So you can say that we are old EU's countries investement and insurance.
