there are so many quality improvements in the city that a southern italian man (like "IlTarantino") can't even imagine
What kind of tourism? Business and congress tourism? Milan is not attractive for its beauty. End of story.

Try to go to Duomo, Galleria, and all the city centre.
After that, tell me show many business man you can see, and how many tourists.
You might be surprised to see that 90 % are tourists.

Milan attracts more tourists than Florence, Venice, etc.
So
Milan is better than Florence, Venice, etc.
OK! I understand. LOL.

Tourists come to Italy to admire Milan
If there's time at the end, they move to Venice and Florence etc...
That's why Milan is the second most visited city in Italy, after Rome
Too funny... ahahah

Italy is a beautiful country. I personally prefer the south because it is much closer to Turkey culturally and I very much admire the architecture. However, there are very beautiful cities in the northern part of the country as well. So you guys should quit that north vs south thing.

I just checked out your city. It is sort of neglected but the older buildings are very beautiful, very similar to the Mediterranean coastal cities in Turkey!

In fact Northern Italy has dozens of beautiful cities. I agree.
But we shouldn't take Milan as an exemple of pure "beauty". Milan is well known for other positive aspects.

I can say the same thing about Taranto, that is only a "potential" beautiful city.

My friends from middle school in Turkey got together in Rotterdam. The pic is a bit blurry. Sorry about that.

Rotterdam, Holland

The pic of your friends was shot just in front of the market hall. I wonder why they took this as back ground of a photo instead of the market hall, which is far more interesting. On the other hand the market hall is no high-rise. On this pic are 2 high-rises, the Red Apple and the Waterstadtoren.

It could be that this part of the city you meant wasn't spectacular or not so posh or what ever as some other parts of the city, but for sure it was not horrible. There are hardly any horrible parts in Dutch cities. I can't tell you my definition of horrible city parts, otherwise I will get comments for this from other members of this forum or visitors of this Thread.
