I do not know what you think.
for me except the Gherkins , I am not excited for other London towers
They are distressing banality.

I'm in love with Milan.
They have the same problems as Paris, a lot of historical landmarks to protect in the center so they built a new district a few km away, but thanks God (and time) architecture is not the same.

This city is doing so great on all levels.

Actually most of Milan's skyscrapers are exactly in the city center, the concept is completely different from Paris.

Some cities have enough demand to have both. London has a central CBD in the core of the city, growing fast, and also a booming CBD a few km's from the centre. London has been fortunate enough that it has had enough demand to also build several other clusters throughout the city, also booming. It has done this while also protecting the historical architecture in the centre, proving that it is possible. The factor that limits this in other European cities is lack of demand, not nimbyism.

While no doubt technically correct, the term CBD always strikes me as incongruous for London - personally I'd opt for financial district - it sounds less provincial.

London sacrifice its historic center with hideous buildings in height
because she wants to be the Dubai of Europe.
This becomes an architectural chaos
This planning concept already has-been before being born.

It might have had something to do with a bit or re-organisation that took place in the early 1940's too...

The Nazi's inflicted more damage to London's 'historic centre' than any of its current skyscrapers have done.

To be honest Victorians also did a lot of damage to Medieval London but there were times of rapid improvements of standards of living, sort of modern China when it's easier to demolish something and build new instead.
