That's beautiful and enchanting.

But my question still remains . For a city of it's size and importance it's skyline is just a big what ?

1. It is not allowed to built skyscrapers in the center of the city.

2. Building skyscrapers in and around St. Petersburs is very expensive, because of the ground.

-> So most companies want to stay better in the center and at least spend less money. Only Gazprom decided to build a skyscraper.

Building skyscrapers for apartments also isn't profitable, becaus the people want to stay near the center.

The best way to revitalize this 3d is to allow historical skylines.

This could change the game.

the fact is that if this thread is called "best modern european skylines", it's normal that all the posts are about the same cities with their same skylines...it's not the thread that is boring, in the case it's the subject of this thread. but it's the same with all the other tds about skylines or something specific

It will be more interesting but you have to wait 20-30 years. Europe needs time to transform and see that skyscrapers are the most efficient way of planning a city. No cars or (less) public transport is needed, since an high density of people living together makes supermarket, doctors, sports, friends and work a lot closer. For example if you have a area with regular houses maybe there is an Supermarkt every 1 km. But if there is an area of skyscrapers you could have it in an area of 100 meter.
