My god, the new New Sreet Grand Central is terrible. I was reading about how the architect doesn't like it because the authorities strayed too far from his design. It just looks so cheap.

Your assessment is really valid from 10,000 miles away. Please, share more of your opinions.

Here's photo's I took of New Street Station.

Post 1

I've got many photo's so I'll split them into separate post so it's not to long.

And what a beautiful day it was!

Stephenson Street cladding still looking shiny

The reflection from the sun on the cladding was a little blinding, but still looked great

Third Eye still not finished, seems workers are more focus on the exposed steel next to it.

Still a lot of light coming through the eye, even with the LED modules installed, excellent technology.

Not having seen the New Street Station in the flesh (which I will make a point of doing as soon as I can) I have to say I'm thinking the mirror finish looks a bit tacky - or will do as it ages. Am I being unfair?

I'm really enjoying the tram updates though, this is something that will change Brum very much for the better.

The only thing that I want now is that the others who live in Birmingham should participate in updating this thread.

Never thought I would see the day that someone could be proud of posting a photo of New Street Station. The new station, however, is awesome.
