Bit confused over this number - looks like 13 - but that no was a T-69.

What will become of the Snow Hill stop? I read there will be new platforms outside the rail yard and the current tram stop will be reuse as the fourth terminus track for the railway station, but I didn't sort out whether they think to simply recycle things “as they are”, with only minor adaptation works, or there will be some major project, maybe for the whole station (which now isn't really anything special).

Another doubt is about what fate will face the T69s: if I correctly recall, they are due to be phased out along with the new CAF tramcar entry into service, but IMHO Centro should take (part of) them as a reserve, both to cope an unexpected passengers boom after the city centre section opening and to deal with the envisaged further extensions. I know new trams are more numerous (20 trams with an option for five extra instead of 16) and capacious (210 passengers versus 156), but the route will be longer (+10% with New Street an Wolverhampton extension), the headway tighter (6' versus 8') and T69s have only 15 years, that is about midlife for a tramcar.

Better explanation of how new Show Hill station will look like, you can see in this video. New stop will be on northern part of station. As for existing stop, you mention correctly, it will be closed and rebuild to allow forth platform here:

£1.7m access improvements to rail station formally opened
02.02.2015

A £1.7 million improvement scheme to install lifts at a busy Birmingham railway station has been formally opened.

They were fitted on the platform and to the car park at Acocks Green station in a scheme funded by Centro and the Department for Transport.

The station was the busiest without step-free access in the West Midlands, with 415,420 passenger journeys in 2013/14

Work progresses on replacing tram track in Wolverhampton
30.01.2015

The old mineworkings were up to 40ft feet deep and filled with loose, uncompacted building rubble

The laying of new Metro tram tracks over former mineworkings in Wolverhampton city centre has resumed after engineers devised a way of tackling the unstable and potentially dangerous site.

They were uncovered on the A41 Bilston Road between the junctions with Steelhouse Lane and Hospital Street in November as work progressed on replacing worn out tram tracks.

After intensive efforts to find a safe way of building over the mine, work is now underway with tram services scheduled to resume running into the St George's terminus in March.

The old workings, which are up to 12m (40ft) deep, 55m (180ft) long and 20m (65ft) wide, are thought to date as far back as the Industrial Revolution, when coal and iron ore was mined extensively across the Black Country

Midland Metro opens refurbished depot
06 Feb 2015

UK: A ceremony on February 5 marked the completion of a £13·8m programme to increase capacity at Midland Metro’s rolling stock maintenance depot in Wednesbury.

The second phase of the programme includes a 42 m extension to the existing maintenance shed, new office and staff space and new storage facilities. The first phase had been completed in September 2013, comprising a shed for commissioning the new fleet of CAF Urbos 3 trams as well as additional stabling facilities.

The depot expansion was carried out by Morgan Sindall. It forms part of a £128m expansion of the tram route between Wolverhampton and Birmingham. A 1·4 km extension from Snow Hill to New Street is due to open by the end of 2015
