Ohio and Grand are going to end up with some nice street walls down in that area. This, Parkview, 535 N St Clair, 550 N St Clair, City Front, Parcel 24 which I think is over there. Am I missing anything thing?

Pension fund to buy Streeter for about $212 million
By Alby Gallun

Reflecting strong demand among pension funds for downtown apartment buildings, the Ohio State Teachers Retirement System has agreed to pay about $212 million for the Streeter, a recently built 481-unit high-rise at 345 E. Ohio St., sources say.

In addition to being one of the largest recent downtown apartment sales, the transaction also ranks among the most expensive, at about $440,000 a unit. The pension fund is buying the 50-story luxury building from a joint venture of Chicago-based Golub & Co., Boston-based AEW Capital Partners and a unit of BlackRock Realty Advisors Inc. in New York.

...

As it sells the Streeter, Golub is getting ready to break ground on a twin tower immediately to the east. Scheduled to open in 2009, the high-rise would stand about 50 stories and have 480 units.

Is this thread title accurate? Are they really doing site prep for Tower II?

I saw a couple backhoes milling around the big piles of gravel on the lot the other day -- does that qualify as site prep?

Depends on what they were doing. Could have been an impromptu backhoe race, perhaps?

Very funny, Mr. Diamond! Here's a picture of today's activity -- but then it could be a hole digging contest.
