This Updown Court mansion is definitely not the best available property at the offered in 2011 $123m price tag, but don't forget guys: this thread is not named "far from perfect architecture", so let's post here only the real horror genre stuff.

For one of the most expensive houses in a country with no tradition of American McMansions, it's .

This has always been the kitsch architecture thread, it's just the title that is giving the wrong impression. I get more "dark" (i.e. evil) from browsing threads and posts dedicated to fascist architecture, other types of dictatorial architecture, prison architecture...

At least it has nice materials. Copper, slate, stone. The positives end there.

Well, I think that most of examples posted here are just ugly buildings but nothing that could not be fixed thou. I am from Slovakia and I would like to show you the real dark side of architecture. Past regime definitely ruined our beautiful country. One picture as example.

(There was supposed to be picture of my hometown but I do not have 10 posts yet so I can not post pictures. But you could google "Sekčov - Panoráma")

It is aerial picture of commie blocks. Part of city of Prešov. It was build in 80s and completely erased nature and anything that was there. This is just one of thousands of examples from Central and Eastern Europe. Not only this "architecture" is ugly, it is also (or used to be) unhealthy due to materials used, due to high density of residents per one building and such. It is huge scar on corpus of my country and it will take hundreeds years till we get rid of them. Really makes me sad.

That's more bad urban planning, banal but the architecture seems fairly nondescript.
