First it was the Georgian terraces that were abandoned and became hellholes, then the vast modernist estates. Is that the future of the current suburban sprawl?

Also Poland, to be precise:

Gizycko - a NEW 'old town' soon will be build.

and Punsk a small village located in close distance [a little over 2km] from Polish-Lithuanian border. But still polish site

classy gates

What shocked me. In Poland the architecture is still a little bit shocking. What kind of houses people build just overwhelmed my expectations, there is a lot of kitsch. The same situation I expected in Lithauania and Latvia. But surprisingly the architecture of housing is really solid. The country seems to be poorer so do houses. Some are in really bad shape BUT the architecture is old, and solid nothing fancy. I really liked buildings of any kind, from sacral to housing and shopping centers. Especially good pieces of Architecture i found in Klaipeda and Nidia.

WOW, the building from Netherlands look like a FAKE. I cannot believe that it is a photo. Looks like a render.

One from Shijiazhuang looks funny, 0 match with sourrunding area. Copy and paste, from one continent to another.

Thankfully this was never built. A 1980s proposal by Robert Stern for Chicago

That was never actually a serious proposal.
From Wikipedia: 'In the 1980 book entitled The Tribune Tower Competition published by Rizzoli, authors Robert A. M. Stern, Stanley Tigerman as well as Bruce Abbey and other architects jokingly submitted "late entries" in Volume II of the work.'

Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

The same story with Saudi Arabia & UAE. Fast buck meets the Orient = total kitsch.

So true.

I actually said it looked like Ceausescu's or Kim Il Sung's palace before

I assert that Causescu and Kim's palaces don't belong here.

Ceausescu's palace is pretty impressive in real life but the detailing doesn't fit the shape.
The other two I don't like at all.

In Romania there is crap like this everywhere:

Which is sad because with a renovation it could look kinda like this:

But apparently tasteful renovations mean communism
