Two car train sets? Do they plan bigger sets?

Platform length is long enough to allow two train-sets coupled together. I don't know if the current fleet (42) is big enough to allow coupled train sets and high frequency.

The longest train-sets allowed to operate are two 70% Low-floor Trams coupled together with a combined length of about 60m. Each Tram is designed to carry 286 passengers (ok thats very squeezed) so coupled together it can carry 562 passengers. The design of the vehicle is baseed on Shenyang tramway rolling stock The fare is lower than local minibus transport on the same routes, so it is affordable for the middle class and even working class (if that was your question).

Yes the whole system has been built and designed quite cost effective for just $470 million, which in terms of rapid transit development would mean only a minor extension under european, north american conditions. In phase II the northern end is intended to continue as a subway, but it has been speculated that this will be postponed to fast track eastern, western and southern extension which will connect the new national railway south of the city and newly built satellite suburbs on the east and south of the city,

Not directly but you can compare the network map with the map of built up areas.

Why doesn't the National Railway network extend into the City Center?

The old rail corridor has been partly used for the Light Rail and i believe the plan for a National Rail network is influenced by the Chinese doctrines who built huge stations rather on the perimeter of a city.

Thats silly , most people like to take the train because it often goes to the city center and not the outskirts like a plane...
