Interesting how in Europe no one wears a bike helmet. In most of Canada it's the law for anyone under 18 and people who don't wear one stick out in the crowd. In Canada not riding with a bike helmet is nearly the equivalent of not wearing a motorcycle helmet although the latter is the law.

For a variety of reasons, helmets make bicycling more dangerous, or at the very least don't make it safer.

This is a good place to start, but you can google actual studies yourself:

The ones in Algiers are really cool and they are made even nicer by the fact that they are not plastered with ugly advertising.

Uraltransmash trams for Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. Yes, believe or not this city wanted to restore tram service, honoring its 500th Anniversary. Right now this project is on hold due to lack of financing:

Hungarian company builds tram for Africa
03 Nov 2015

ETHIOPIA: A prototype tram for the African market has been delivered to Addis Ababa by Hungarian company Dunai Repülőgépgyár.

DR intends to carry out series production in Ethiopia using Hungarian components, and is in talks with Ethiopian state-owned Metals & Engineering Corp about constructing a test track. It is also negotiating financing with the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia. Meanwhile, the prototype is being kept at Metals & Engineering Corp’s site.

The prototype was originally built in 2010 and intended for use in Szeged. The two end sections are rebuilt ex-Rostock Tatra B6 cars, with a low-floor middle section added. Styling is by Artifex Stúdió

B6 is a trailer car. To be pulled by T6.

Here's a Tatra B6A2 from Rostock. From transphoto.ru

Ok.
So, it's strange to use trailers cars (unmotorized ?) to build a tram (with motors and driver cabine)

Since it's an old tram car, they would have had to replace much anyway, so I guess it wasn't that hard.

I'm still confused about "DR intends to carry out series production in Ethiopia". Does that mean that only the prototype was rebuilt from an old tram and the production series will be brand new? I doubt that they will get many spare old B6 cars. Unless I'm wrong, and there is a bunch.

If they will be brand new, it's weird that they had to be based on old trams instead of something new altogether.

Stadler wins a tender for supplying 40 trams to Ostrava, Czechia with its "eastern market" model Metelica made in Belarus. It is the first time ever when foreign produced trams will be delivered to Czechia! Until now all the trams in service in Czechia have been domestic. Brands like Ringhoffer, ČKD, Škoda, Inekon, Pragoimex,...

I have a technical question about Düwag GT6 and GT8, was it universally common for them to have fluorescent lighting powered by 600V DC from catenary with resistors to limit current? Was polarisation changed automatically as in case of Vienna E1 trams? Did trams of those types ever had lighting converted to AC power from inverters during their life in Germany?
