MELBOURNE | Aurora Melbourne Central | 269m | 881ft | 88 fl | U/C

Thanks to UrbanMelbourne.

Been losing track of developments in Melbourne of late - the city is booming, but this one is a real stand out.

Awesome.
But 267 meter is not much for a 88 floor tower. It means floor heights of 3 m max.

Even still, most residential properties seem to be at least 3.5m per floor; it's only Australia that seems to have such short floors. I think it's better--less wasting of building materials to expand a space that often isn't even used, but it's unusual, just the same.

That having been said, this tower is really, really beautiful. Melbourne has so many exceptional residential tower designs.

I agree. For luxury condo's it should be 3,5 minimum. This one is 3 meter with floor thickness included, so the gross floor height will be even less, i.e. 2,7 meter or so.

its probably 2.9 meters per floor with some taller lower floors. 2.9 meters is roughly equivalent to 9' ceilings IIRC, and is the general standard for new condo buildings, at least in Toronto.

Beautiful. I hope they stick to that design if it's approved.

Not sure how accurate, but was reported that it will be the third largest residential tower (in terms of floor size) in the world on completion?

A beautiful building with a great design, but the podium needs improvement. Still better than the current car park though...

The development on Melbourne's skyline leaves (bigger) Sydney for dead...
