I didn't notice it before, but there are shades of both of the residential tower clusters in Haeundae in Busan. Quite a nice set of designs to resemble.

The dancing lights were very cool on the model in person Only hope the real lights (yes they will be there) are even more impressive !

Thread title should also be changed as follows:

This baby is definitely going ahead ! Q2 2015 scheduled to start and it's selling like hot cakes ..

Q2 2015 with completion Mid 2019 so 4 years construction cycle.

Haha you gave me a fright there for a moment !! Let's just hope construction doesn't slip but as I've said with it selling so quickly should start sooner rather than later ..

Meanwhile here is my video of the model showing the animated lighting !



Hopefully the real thing will look even better with more subtle shades of colour & movement than the rather tacky carnival toy LED's they have used here ..

UEM Sunrise and Colliers International are close to selling out the triumphant Aurora Melbourne Central residential project in one of the most successful sales campaigns on record.

Aurora Melbourne Central – UEM Sunrise’s inaugural development in Australia – is a 3,197sq m site located at the heart of the Melbourne CBD at the intersection of La Trobe Street and Swanston Street. It is set to make way for a stunning 92-storey tower.

Colliers International was appointed as the exclusive sales agent for the project, after selling the site at 224-252 La Trobe Street to UEM Sunrise in 2013. The project has received an astounding response in the marketplace, with 900 apartments – or 95 per cent of the project – sold in a record-breaking two and half weeks.

Tim Storey, Colliers International Managing Director of Residential, praised UEM Sunrise on Aurora’s success, as it is one the most successful developments in their 49 years of property development.

“The outstanding response to this sales campaign is a true testament to the entire project team,” Mr Storey said.

“ UEM Sunrise launched the project in Malaysia and Singapore to their exclusive clients with strong interest. Subsequently, the remaining project was released through Colliers International’s networks in South Asia and the local Australian market.

“ Colliers International sold the site to UEM Sunrise in 2013 and we have worked closely with our client and the wider project team over the past year to embark on an intricate architectural design process and tailored sales and marketing strategy.

“Aurora Melbourne Central will be a testament to UEM Sunrise’s commitment to delivering quality living spaces and a vibrant, integrated development that resonates with Melbourne’s rich culture, as well as its status as the world’s most livable city.

The site is currently occupied by a seven-storey carpark structure with retail tenancies on site. Demolition works of the existing structure are scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2015.

Aurora Melbourne Central will offer a vast array of transport options and connectivity at its doorstep, with a selection of tram stops in all directions and direct underground connection from the development to Melbourne Central – a city loop railway station and the city’s largest shopping precinct.

Mr Storey said Aurora Melbourne Central was the only residential development in Melbourne with a direct underground connection to the rail network, which was a key factor in attracting interest from purchasers.

The development would also provide direct access to one of Melbourne’s finest retail shopping precincts, incorporating Melbourne Central Shopping Centre, Emporium, Myer and David Jones all via direct underground pedestrian network and a series of covered pedestrian overhead link bridges, as well as the Bourke Street Mall.

Once constructed, the striking mixed use tower would be the tallest building in the heart of the CBD, offering vistas over Melbourne’s superb skyline and beyond.

L-R: Vision (226m), Vic One (241m), Lighthouse (218m), Empire (181m), Aurora (271m) & EQ (202m) - all of which will be U/C by mid 2015 !!

PS. This is an older render of Aurora with the Burj Khalifa like stepped out lower levels, however the height and shape of the tower remains same at the top continuing all the way to the podium ..

Love the rendering. Clearly Melbourne embraces colour a lot more than other cities. That's Melbourne's gain and their loss.

What's up with the mid-year start?

If it's sold out now, surely they would be looking to begin ASAP, right?

And the video doesn't even show the exterior lighting in it's multi-colour mode which is meant to resemble the Aurora .. should add even more colour !

Yes that - and also a couple of tenancies that still have their lease yet to expire, which I imagine would be in Q1 next year.
