They have to work on design of new modern trains current ones are old fashion.

I thought the Russian trains (is there a special name for them?) are workhorses that last a long time.

Wow, that is great, i havent seen this thread before. Baku metro pics are so rare and hard to find on the net.

I was wandering how the network expansion plans were, there is this picture with that map, but hardly visible.



Has somebody a better view of this map?

New subway station to be opened in Baku next year

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-ECONOMICS.

New subway station will be opened in Baku next May, chief engineer of the Baku underground system Elbrus Muradov told APA-ECONOMICS.

Muradov said the new station would be located on Hazi-Aslanov – Memar Ajami line following the Azadlig Prospekti station. The new station is conditionally named as Mushfig.

The underground system official said the construction work was continued currently according to the schedules.

Baku subway was founded in 1967 and there are 22 stations and one depot there. On November 10, 2009, the President of Azerbaijan issued an order about some measures for the development of prospects of the Baku underground system.
