Rijeka looks extremely nice on these photos. You've got some fantastic pieces of arhitecture there!

Rijeka definately looks much bigger than it actually is.

Common lets not argue as to which of the two cities are bigger and better. I like both and I have been to both cities so many times. They are of similar size but they are both of different appearance.

Split is purely Meditteranean in beauty and character. It is a very Croatian city and continue to develop in a manner different to that of Rijeka.

Rijeka is beautiful in its own unique way and I tend to think of it as the only central European city that makes a dramtatic burst onto the shores of the Adriatic and hence the Meditteranean.

To me Rijeka reminds me of Zagreb on the sea, the Austro-Hungarian architecture is grand and with the many projects underway in this city will no doubt make it again the most important city in this part of Europe as it once was in its glorious past.

To me Rijeka will develop to be an important commercial centre, while to me Split will also develop but onto a different path and hence become Croatia's lifestyle capital.

I also considered that the only 2 cities of former Yugoslavia that you could truely regard as being cosmopolitan and they were Sarajevo and also Rijeka. You still see this in Rijeka today.

vazda gusila Pulu...
