Ankara is such a lovely city. I have been to Ankara many times, and every time I go there I love it more. Thank you very much for this great thread, Kuvvaci.

Ankara is an historical city actually. It was the capital of ancient Celtic state "Galatia"... But with thr Roman rule Capital disappeared with its everything and turned a Roman millitary headquarter. You can find some roman buldings even now, like roman bath, at the open museum... During the Seljuk and Ottoman ages it was always a millitary base with a small village. Then railway came to Ankara and had an strategical importance... And First Turkis national assably gethered in Ankara because of its strategical and millitay position. When national assabley came there, Ankara was a little Anatolian village... |
