Getting a little tired of these blue-grayish Neo-modern commodity boxes being put up in Shenzhen. It a great TOD project but I think Shenzhen should have more buildings with some flair to them.

Everything is too far apart. There are so very many crazy wide roads, even right next to (or between) supertalls; it's like these mainland Chinese cities don't have any conception of what "urban fabric" might mean, and why it's important for that fabric to be finely-knit.

In my opinion, Chinese urban plan shall pay more attention to details and pedestrian-friendly design. Many big cities in China seem to be designed
exclusively for automobiles NOT for humans.

Yes, indeed. They look boring. Maybe 10 or 20 years later, they will look not only boring but also ugly.

Very few of they have their own personality in terms of design itself.

To be fair Beijing is the most extreme and horrible example of typical Chinese urban planning. Most Chinese cities have a much better and walkable urban fabric compared to Beijing.

I doubt it, they will build things with different styles by then and the Neo-modern design will be more appreciated.
