Ten years ago:
1. Shanghai was closing the gap between its skyline and Hong Kong's. HK status as the number one skyline in Asia (and maybe the world, as NYC construction was in a slump) is no longer undisputed.

2. Chongqing looked like an industrial town with tall buildings, Shenzen's brand of futuristic is tacky (as opposed to cool-looking Shanghai.

3. Guangzhou was under the radar, despite its size.

4. Every other city in China was some "random", "unknown", built up area.

The Present:
1. Shanghai is clearly the #1 Chinese skyscraper city. HK is starting to look dated.

2. Guangzhou is well-recognized, probably even quite overrated. I think it's one of the most beautiful cities ever.

3. Chongqing looks way prettier. Shenzen upped its design game and many of its new skyscrapers are some of the most beautiful new buildings.

4. Many people don't just name Chinese cities, they now can recognize these cities' respective skylines.

What didn't change:
1. I still prefer Hong Kong over Shanghai.
2. Bank of China tower in Hong Kong, and Jin Mao in Shanghai are still the best looking Chinese skyscrapers.

Hong Kong skyline is almost the same compared to 2010.
Also, Shanghai skyline is almost the same compared to 2014.
If there are no ''skyscrapers boom'' in the near future, Guangzhou and Shenzhen would probably overtake them very soon

Wow. The bling on that big gold skyscraper on the left would make Donald Trump very envious.
