More of Kamalapur railyway station with a brief description (Old images; 'OLD IS GOLD')

The Kamlapur Railway Station in Dhaka, Bangladesh by Robert Bouighy [1961]. The modernist railway station is comprised of a canopy structure supported by reenforced concrete columns. The petal-like shells recall the water lily, the national flower of Bangladesh and symbol of purity. Together they form arcades of the pointed arches found throughout the Islamic world, combining both religion and patrimony literally under one roof.

House in Fort Worth, TX, USA (1955)
Architect: Unknown

Completely original and unaltered from the way it looked in 1955, but unfortunately there seems to be no furniture in the photos.

The Bangladesh Krishi Bank Building in Dhaka, Bangladesh by Muzharul Islam [1970s]. The twelve storey concrete block house one of the largest specialized banks in the country. While the architectural era is post-modernist, the architectural style leans more towards modernism with its emphasis on rigid geometry and surreal repetitive patterns.

The BCIC [Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation] Building in Dhaka by Bashirul Haq [1978-1982]. The architect declared in his thesis that he was most inspired by Alvar Aalto and wanted to tame his chaotic surroundings through architecture. The lowest floors of the 20 storey building are designed to be more curved and inviting. However as the central tower is completely linear. His architectural style is celebrated for grasping his cultural roots, respecting local context, urban sustainability and the use of natural light and air. His buildings are characterised by extensive use of tactile materials such as hand made brick, rough concrete and natural woods. This use of exposed concrete thus mirrors its surrounding buildings adding a grey tree to the concrete jungle of Dhaka.
