not to criticize but why does dubai put a spire on everything,is this like an unwritten rule in dubai that every building needs a spire

Tall buildings without spires and with flat roof look DULL and boring.

There are places where building are considered not only for their functional function, but for their esthetic and eye catching value. Seeing a building in perspective will look like a sort of a pyramidual structure, therefore a spire is a logic design component.

As I said there are places where people do care how a building look.

AltinD, if every single building would have a spire, finally, they would not be interesting at all.

yea spires do look nice but only when a buildings is done correctly and the buildings use the spire as an extension of height not just something to make the building look taller

some buildings that have great looking spires, emirates buildings, burj dubai, chrysler building

bad spires---the pinnacle its just looks like they added the 2 spires at the end because they had nothing better to do.

also its not go to have a city with 100 buildings with spires because then it doesn't look intresting it looks ordinary and not aesthically pleasing

^ Agreed.

However Marina Pinacle has only one spire and not two. It is another building nearby that has two spires as you said. That one doesn't look bad but on Marina Pinacle it doesn't add anything. Not that the building itself is preatty to begin with.
