As posted by redbaron, this tower will squeeze between the two towers on the left.

Strange that there aren't more interests in what is going to be Australia's tallest tower.

Expect construction to commence within the year there will be no shortage of interest in the apartments to go with the hotel component as Crown is a huge brand across Asia these days ..

Mods: The title of this thread still needs to be changed to 323m / 1060ft / 90fl

Melbourne's supertall skyline in about 5 years ... which our international friends will be able to enjoy this very view from the Formula 1 Grand Prix coverage each year ..

That's Crown's Queensbridge Tower in the center of picture .. it appears shorter than it's neighbor Australia 108 (317m U/C) only due of perspective ..

While guests at the 6-Star Crown Hotel (as well as the residents) won't need a ticket to the race as they'll have an aerial view of the Albert Park lake track (seen here to the left) ..

But visitors won't miss out either - all the amazing photos log0008 posted earlier are of the publicly accessible rooftop bar & restaurant - so it will be a development for the world to enjoy !!

And a bit of a roundup from the ozforums section:

The old proposal. Before it got a redesign and a height increase. You might spy another ~240m tower between this and the neighbouring Prima/Pearl building (the white box in the last picture of this quoted post). That site was bought and added to this new proposal allowing for the much wider redesigned building.

I think you could comfortably fit about three Q1's into OQB's volume there ..

For additional perspective - OQB's floor area has been quoted as anything from 200,00-300,000 sqm. The Empire State Building has a floor area of 209,000-254,000 sqm (Useable / Total) and they are almost exactly the same height to the 'roof' ie. 86th Floor Main Observation Deck ESB @ 1050ft vs. OQB Roof @ 1060 ft.

I think she's in pretty good company .. whatever the final height I doubt she will get beaten for sheer size in a long time.

Definitely not a box.
And a comparison to the rest of the city (excluding suburban skylines) Gives you an idea of how many towers are going up or about to go up in this city.

Yes, this is a judgement call on my part; if an unrealistic proposal becomes real then I will add it to this list. On the other hand Tower Melbourne may need to be removed if the current legal situation remains quagmire'd.

Thanks to Papa Riddlz for his list, he did most of the heavy lifting.

Supertall Melbourne Project Approved by State Government
Quote:
The state government of Victoria has given their approval to a 90-storey proposal in Melbourne's Southbank area, setting the stage for the construction of Australia's tallest building. Dubbed One Queensbridge, the 323-metre supertall is the brainchild of Crown Resorts and Schiavello Group, with UK-based Wilkinson Eyre mapping out their architectural vision for the property.

It's not that people outside of Melbourne don't care , they do care that its going to be the new tallest in the country but if they ignore it for long enough it wil cease to exist and not be so.
