If I remember correctly, the piles are going as far as 90m below ground level so it might take a while before the core starts rising.

The concrete wall around the excavation is there because this is being built on reclaimed land. I think there must be quite some dewatering involved in the excavation process :-)
The horizontal beams are there just to hold the pressure on the perimeter wall so that it doesn't cave in (something that didn't work too well last year for Nicoll Highway MRT excavation - on reclaimed land as well).

The piles go 90m below ground, but what about the depth of the hole itself? What do you think?

Frankly, no idea, but very likely much less than 90m :-)

Sorry,I can't update the pictures.Because I'm working for this project in another country ,not Singapore. You know there are so many contractors in a building, such as main contractor, sub contractor and so on. Of course,my job is the grandest part of this building.

BFC will be one of the plots in that area. (the part to the right of Central Promontary)

The Downtown Extension will also cut right across that area behind the BFC and link up with the future IR

The whole area will be converted to a big construction site, with all the projects and CST Phase II starting next year I think, and the ECP realignment

Gonna get quite exciting.

Can't wait to see what they're gonna do to Marina Bay station, now in the middle of nowhere.

How do they realign the ECP? Its gonna be difficult right. And next time how will people travel from AYE to ECP? I saw the map the expressway "disintegrated" into the roads at BFC, and then come up again as expressway. Wont there be traffic jams?
