Next milestone in Boeing change incorporation program. LN30 ZA234 VT-ANE & LN36 ZA381 B-2726 succefully reworked. So all planes from LN30 to LN66 complete, 5 are preparing to test flights and waiting for delivery. Only 16 production frames remains uncompleted (LN21 JA823J for Japan Airlines should be ready soon). 10 Very Early Build (Terrible teens) and 6 Early Build left, I thinks last one will be delivered not later than June 2015.

A perfect 10, Boeing website for the new 787-10:
http://www.newairplane.com/787/787-10_announcement/

The differences between the 787-10 and the -9 are only small, there are only 2 major changes to the design. The 1st is the most obvious, it's longer and the 2nd is a different, "semi-levered" 777-300ER style landing gear.

As for the orders for the 787-10, they are not all new orders. From United's 20 there are 10 conversions from their existing order. It's not known if these are conversions from the -8 or the -9, but the -8 is most likely judging by the numbers of the previous orders.

Looks like they're not going with triple bogies on the MLG like they were talking about originally.

"An indication of an oil filter problem prompted the crew of a Boeing 787 flying from Denver to Tokyo to divert to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Tuesday afternoon, a United Airlines spokeswoman said.

Flight 139 landed normally and an airline maintenance team was inspecting it, United spokeswoman Mary Ryan said in an email statement...."

Just saw the photos shown on the website, and I must say, wow. Just an utterly amazing plane. It looks really sleek to be a long-range aircraft, and while the differences between the -10 and -9 are small, the aesthetics of it is truly stunning. Boeing has indeed entered into a stage where the aircraft design process has captivated even more passengers and aviation enthusiasts to a point that its modern design rivals that of the 747-8 or the 777. It's just a really amazing machine, I can foresee that aircraft type getting tons of orders from airlines abroad... and hopefully, a lot too from here in the US.

I wonder, though: if we compare the ranges of a 77W, 77L, and the 787-10, which of those can fly the longest? And what kind/s of engine options do you think will be available for the newest aircraft? Plus, what would be its maximum seating capacity in a mono-class setting, as well as a typical 2-, 3-, and 4-class setting?

The 77L is easily the longest range aircraft of those 3 you mentioned. The 787-10 will have a range of about 7100nm. Engine options will just be uprated versions of the GEnx & RR Trent 1000.

Delivery stats:

Air India: 9
June: 4
2013: 12
Total: 61

Hainan will start the 787 service on July 3, so they should also take delivery of their first one any day now. The LN76 ZA431, B-2722 is currently doing a C flight.

It's a common misconception that the wings are the reason why a plane can fly, the engines are actually more important. In such angles the wings actually don't give the plane any lift. So what you see there is actually the engines pulling it up, like a rocket. The wings keep a plane in the sky, the engine make it fly.

Charleston flightline:

https://twitter.com/Kearney_Brendan/.../photo/1/large

2 China Southern (ZA384 painted, ZA385 unpainted, blue rudder), 1 Hainan (ZA434 unpainted, red rudder), 1st Charleston assembled Qatar B787 (unpainted, gray rudder).
At the end of June and first weeks of July should be rush in Charleston, Hainan can take 3 frames (1 in June for sure), and China Southern could take 3 frames too.
ZA243 VT-ANO will be ready soon, but customer is Air India and delays are rather certain. The same situation is with ZA242 VT-ANN, only customer flights and delivery left.
Two other early frames probably will be stored to September or even later, I don't think that Air India will be taking deliveries of more than one plane per month.

The most underrated parts in an airplane are the bolts which attach the engines to the wing.
I´ve read that in the 777 there is only ONE bolt which connects the engine with the wing.

Boeing updated their orders website:
http://active.boeing.com/commercial/orders/index.cfm

2 of the 787-10 orders were firmed:
Singapore Airlines: 30
United: 10

This brings the total number of orders to 930.
https://twitter.com/BoeingAirplanes/...03029367201792

I wonder how fast all the other commitments will be firmed up, it should come close the 1,000 when they are all done.

Commitments summary:
GECAS: 10x 787-10
ALC: 30x 787-10
ALC: 3x 787-9
BA: 12x 787-10 (plus a possible 6x 787-9)
Xiamen: 6x 787-8 (not ordered during the show, but they did make an engine order so this order should also be firmed up soon)

Qatar was also expected to firm up to 30 options for the 787-9, but this didn't happen in Paris but it could still happen later this year.

RwandAir should firm their order for 2 787s too. One of these (LN17 ZA150 RAM NTU) is undergoing change incorporation, and 2nd (LN19 ZA151 RAM NTU too) should return to EMC soon.

It is great to see the go ahead of the 787-10. The 787 program will be a sucess for Boeing, no doubt... like the A350 for Airbus...
