Delivery stats with the last 2 of the last couple of days.
ANA: 20
LOT: 4
June: 6
2013: 14
total: 63

As for the 6th for LOT, the SP-LRF. Uresh has added it to it's production list on nyc787.blogspot.com as LN161. That was the only addition to the list, maybe he will add a new bigger block of production slots soon.

Rolls-Royce delivers Trent 1000 engines for Boeing 787-9 first flight

Wednesday, 19 June 2013

Rolls-Royce has delivered Trent 1000 engines to power the first test flight of the latest member of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner family, the 787-9.

The engines will provide 74,000lb thrust for the 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which will fly for the first time later this year. Trent 1000s will also power the aircraft’s entry into service with Air New Zealand in 2014.

John Griffiths, Rolls-Royce, Programme Director - Trent 1000, said: "This is another important milestone for the Trent 1000 as we work with Boeing to bring the 787-9 into service. We look forward to demonstrating the performance of the Trent 1000 on this latest version of the Dreamliner."

The engines that will power the 787-9 are one per cent more fuel efficient than Trent 1000s currently in service.

A further upgrade, the Trent 1000-TEN, will enter service in 2016 and will be up to three per cent more fuel efficient than Trent 1000s currently in service. The Trent 1000-TEN will be able to power all variants of the 787, including the 787-10. It will deliver the best average range fuel efficiency on the aircraft.

The Trent 1000 powered the Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s entry into service with All Nippon Airways (ANA) in October 2011 and has now completed more than 50,000 flying hours with an engine dispatch reliability of better than 99.9% - the best ever reliability figures for a widebody engine on entering airline service.

Air India will launch a Delhi - Birmingham (UK) route with the 787 starting 1 August 2013.
http://airlineroute.net/2013/06/23/ai-bhx-aug13/

It's actually a relaunch since they operated a service to Toronto via Birmingham until 2008.

On the other hand they have cancelled the planned 787 operation to Hong Kong, Seoul and Osaka.

Boeing is working on their planes, they just send another one from Charleston to Fort Worth for painting.

Air New Zealand announces their initial 787-9 routes.
Quote:
Air New Zealand to use 787-9s on mixed routes

Air New Zealand will deploy its Boeing 787-9s on services to Shanghai, Tokyo, Perth, Honolulu and Papeete when the type enters service from July 2014.

"This modern flexible fuel efficient aircraft will not only replace our current fleet of Boeing 767s, it also represents a significant growth opportunity for our business and opens up the prospect of expanding our Pacific Rim footprint," he says.

Air New Zealand is the launch customer for the 787-9, and will take delivery of the 10 aircraft it has on order between 2014 and 2017. That will allow it to retire its five 767-300ERs and allow for further growth.

That's interesting. Question: what's the likelihood of NZ using the B787-9 on its Auckland–Los Angeles service, which sees at least 15 weekly flights, if not more? It's one of Air New Zealand's premier routes, with one of its services extending further to serve London/Heathrow, now on a B77W.

Hainan is a bit delayed. There is a rumor that the CAAC wants CZ to receive their 2nd 787 first. CZ #2 was up for a customer flight yesterday and today.

Then why doesn't Hainan and China Southern both get their 787s on the same day? Aero Mexico's 787 looks nice.

Politics, it's China after all.

ps.
BA's 1st delivery was delayed because of a rumored seating issue.
