The day became even busier for the 787 test pilots.

2nd flight of the day for the:

LN39 ZA260 ET-AOO Ethiopian Airlines
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BOE260

The 1st one returned early, there must have been a small problem.

And the 2nd Qatar 787, out on a C-1. It looks like we will have a double delivery before the end of the month.

LN116 ZA468 A7-BCG Qatar Airways

Bonus, LN20 in the EMC with engines installed, but still enough work to be done on the wings.

It will likely follow the same path as LN21, going to the fuel dock and paint hangar first before returning to the EMC for a while.

LN79 ZA432 for Hainan moved to RWY 11-29. So probably this will be long term storage, we won't see this bird flying anytime soon.

That's #10 for JAL.

Total:
JAL: 10
July: 3
2013: 20
Total: 69

The SP-LRE made it's 4th flight in 10 days yesterday.

Although it doesn't look like there will be 10 deliveries this month there's still enough 787 ready to go 7 or 8 deliveries. With the recent break in production this means that this is still a reduction of the number of planes on the flightline. And when Air India and the Chinese carriers also takes some more the number could still go even higher. The month is still 6 months long, there's still enough time for some Customer flights for an end of the month delivery.

ps.
The 1st delivery to Aeromexico is scheduled for 08/16.

So that plane will be in the EMC for the rest of the year? Wow. Didn't know it took that long to modify a 787. I hope it will look great in the Transaero colors.

An oven fire in the rear galley area.

It was inside the oven and it didn't cause any further damage as the fire was contained in the oven.

Boeing 787 oven fire spooks Air India crew

New Delhi: A fire broke out on an Air India Boeing 787 aircraft on its way from Delhi to Kolkata, in the rear galley area, causing a scare before it was doused by the crew using fire extinguishers.
“There was a rear galley fire which was controlled onboard Delhi-Kolkata flight AI-020 on Wednesday operated by Boeing 787,” said a person with knowledge of the incident, who declined to be identified. “It later turned out that it was (an) internal oven fire only and it did not affect the surrounding areas.”

It looks like something that was warmed up in the oven caught fire, this could happen on any plane. It will be investigated, but don't expect some shocking results.

It does come at wrong moment though.
