So this one is finally completed. After repaint will be waiting for 1st flight. LN30-LN66 finished change incorporation program. Big milestone for 787.

Shouldn't it go back inside the EMC for final touches like LN28, LN21 and LN20 did after painting?

Nope. It has been inside EMC again when VT-ANC was parked outside (August-September) and later get new paint. LN28 ZA232 VT-ANC is now inside EMC again, so this one will be rolled out soon too.

Photo here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/microvolt/9588807428/ (Matt signed it VT-ANC but this is LN30 VT-ANE)

September 9, LN28 VT-ANC in new paint (VT-ANE still inside):
http://paineairport.com/kpae6680.htm

So LN30 is completed, now LN28 is undergoing last jobs.

Inside EMC are:
LN25 ZA230 VT-ANA
LN26 ZA231 VT-ANB
LN28 ZA232 VT-ANC
LN11 ZA800 for Transaero
LN14 or LN22 for Transaero (I think LN14, it has been undergoing refurb outside since few months, LN22 moved to EMC outside stand in 2nd half of September)

Air India's early frames aren't urgent matter for Boeing. These will be delivered probably sometime next year (I don't belive Air India will take more than VT-ANO and VT-ANG this year), so priority and re-work pace aren't hight.
VT-ANE rolled out from EMC in late May 2013:

In June sitted outside EMC:

VT-ANA,B,C inside:

After all the issues with some airlines is also good to point out that JAL seem to have everything under control.

In September they only had 2 issues with 18 or 20 flights per day with 11 planes.
http://www.jal.com/cms/en/corp_00229.html

The 1st problem was caused by a lightning strike that resulted in some damage. 1 flight from Singapore to Narita was cancelled because of this issue. The 2nd problem was because of proper tech issue, a fuel pump didn't work properly. This resulted in an 1 hour delay of the flight from Delhi to Narita.

That's a dispatch reliability of more then 99%. Maybe Norwegian should go ask JAL some advice on how to use the 787.

Norwegian and LOT both have less combine 787s than JAL and they still had more problems in September than JAL. Maybe JAL's success is the beginning of a new page for the 787. Lets hope. Norwegian should take it and shove it.

ANA too claims a dispatch reliability of 99% but the numbers are a bit twisted. In the whole world, the dispatch reliability is based on a departure within 15 minutes. Except ANA and JAL uses a departure within 2 hours.

And I don't know about JAL, but ANA also has a few spare 787 aircraft on stand-by all the time and swap them in case an aircraft goes tech. These aircraft are also not included in the stats.

Those numbers are not comparable with the rest of the world.

Finally... LN81 ZA433 B-2723 on the way to home:
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/C...200Z/KCHS/ZBAA

In few days CHS plant should deliver 3 more 787s: LN100 ZA385 B-2736; LN109 ZA467 A7-BCF; LN113 ZA539 CC-BBE. There is 4th frame, Air India's LN93 ZA241 VT-ANO, but God Only Knows when it will be delivered...

Norwegian has now taken its second 787 out of service indefinetley until Boeing can make it reliable enough, they are wet leasing an A340 to cover the diagrams.
Its previously faced situations where both its 787's were unavailable due to reliability issues at the same time.

I don't agree on your last sentence, especially on the JAL numbers.

If you look at the numbers on their list over the last couple of months you do see that September saw a clear decrease of issues. There were no tech related cancellations or delays over 2 hours anymore, which did happen several times the months before.

That's something that's very comparable to other airlines, maybe not in the 1st place the number of issues but the trend should also be seen at other airlines by now. Maybe not Norwegian since they are only starting, but there to it should improve in the next month.

Matt Cawby took photos from EMC.

LN26 ZA231 VT-ANB inside EMC, GEnx-1b engines are waiting outside for installation. It's rather rare view now.

LN22 ZA803 for Transaero parked outside EMC. Former ZA115 for ANA starts probably 10-12 months long re-work.

And they start longhaul with a brand new type that has only just entered service-it is a gamble for sure they took.

Quite spectacularly too. Cant see them sending their brand new 787s there anytime soon!!

I have to say they can't just throw the whole blame at Boeing.

I agree. They (pilots for the 787)should have spent more time in the flight simulator. Or did more training flights.

Possibly 2 Deliveries

The 1st one is a certain one since it's on it's way to it's new home in Brunei.

LN128 ZA445 V8-DLA Royal Brunei Airlines
http://www.flightradar24.com/data/airplanes/v8-dla

The 2nd one is a bit more unclear, the 1st 787 for Jetstar performed a test flight with the flight number JQ001 around Everett.

LN123 ZA215 VH-VKA Jetstar
http://www.flightradar24.com/data/airplanes/vh-vka

It's possible that it's delivered, but that they will perform several test flights before Jetstar takes it home to Australia. Something similar happened with the 1st one for United.

So after the 5 deliveries in Septembers these are already #2 & #3 in October. This brings the total deliveries to 91.

Before the delivery flight a picture was taken with the 2 Royal Brunei 787s.

And the VH-VKA departing on it's flight in the rain.

Boeing has updated the orders and deliveries for September.

In the end they delivered 6 787s, including the 1st for Jetstar.

British Airways - 1-Sep-2013
All Nippon Airways - 23-Sep-2013
British Airways - 27-Sep-2013
LAN Airlines - 27-Sep-2013
Hainan Airlines - 30-Sep-2013
Qantas - 30-Sep-2013 (Jetstar)

http://active.boeing.com/commercial/...Timeout=100000

That made it 40 in total for 2013. With the 2 deliveries in the 1st 2 days of October they are already of 42.

The Jetstar delivery is confirmed here:
http://www.theaustralian.com.au/busi...-1226732478371

It will do some pilot training flights in the US before arriving in Melbourne this Monday.
