That's not necessarily true. Most government run airlines are operated by bureaucrats who have very little to no airline operation experience. Those guys try to compete with professionally run airlines and have to keep cutting corners any way they can to stay competitive. So, it's not because they have no 'regard', but rather because they're incompetent.

N787FT, LN5, the prototype that has flown quite a bit this year for the GEnx engine upgrade certification has been moved to the EMC in Everett.

http://kpae.blogspot.com

How long will it stay there? Will it just be a modification for the next test program or will it be modified into a plane that's going to be sold to a (VIP) customer?

I'm pretty sure test equipment has been removed from that plane.

If the market (yield factor) is there, yes. I believe it is important to remember that airlines make their real "bread and butter" on routes where there is not only sufficient market demand, but that a given per centage of the tickets need to be business class to make the route profitable.

Vancouver, for example has the fourth largest market to Delhi in North America, yet we have no direct flight. This a "low yield" route, with people hunting for cheaper seats in tourist class. Without the requisite business class percentage of tickets, the revenues are not there.

How this would apply to Warsaw, you would know better than I.

Thanks PiotrG, here are another 2 photos prior to the tail being removed.

Perhaps the same source?

It looks like start of regular change incorporation/re-work to delivery standards. I'm rather surprised they will refurb this one in Everett instead flying it to San Antonio. This one will be probably moved inside EMC in place of LN26 ZA231 VT-ANB after roll out. LN28 ZA232 VT-ANC should be rolled out to flightline maybe even this month and LN22 ZA803 for Transaero will take it's place.

Etihad is expected to place a follow up order for the 787 next month.
http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/...99K0E020131021

Will they be the 1st non-launch customer for the 787-10?

Maybe or top up their 787-9 order (now 41 firmed up and 25 options). Qatar should firm up ther options for 787-9 during Dubai Airshow too.

I wonder if this will be one of VIP planes delivered through ILFC:
LN141 ZA560 for ILFC/UAE Presidential Flight
or
LN143 ZA586 for ILFC/Sky Blue Holdings.

Other option is LN6 undergoing re-work in San Antonio. I don't believe LN149 ZA778 for BBJ will be ready to delivery this year. It will enter FAL in November.

All right... another carrier will be operating the Dreamliner from July 2014: Arkefly will be operating its B787s on its Amsterdam-Caribbean services. Details and schedules:

Amsterdam – Curacao – Aruba – Amsterdam: effective 02 July 2014, operates 3 weekly
OR363 AMS1020 – 1500CUR1605 – 1725AUA 787 3
OR363 AMS1220 – 1700CUR1805 – 1925AUA 787 5
OR363 AMS1400 – 1840CUR1945 – 2105AUA 787 1

OR363 CUR1605 – 1725AUA1745 – 0940+1AMS 787 3
OR363 CUR1805 – 1925AUA1945 – 1140+1AMS 787 5
OR363 CUR1945 – 2105AUA2125 – 1325+1AMS 787 1

Amsterdam – Curacao: effective 05 July 2014, 1 weekly
OR369 AMS1300 – 1740CUR 787 6
OR370 CUR1845 – 1040+1AMS 787 6

Amsterdam – Aruba – Curacao – Amsterdam: effective 06 July 2014, 1 weekly
OR361 AMS1220 – 1700AUA1720 – 1840CUR 787 7
OR361 AUA1720 – 1840CUR1945 – 1140+1AMS 787 7

Amsterdam – Bonaire – Curacao – Amsterdam: effective 10 July 2014, 1 weekly
OR365 AMS1130 – 1610BON1630 – 1750CUR1855 – 1055+1AMS 787 4

What I find odd with these flights is that some of those stopovers only last for 20 minutes... I wonder if that only involves refueling, or it also involves actual passenger boarding and disembarking?

Both Island are actual stops with people boarding and disembarking. The 20 minutes is indeed very short, but they already do the same with their current 767 flights. The plane will probably only be refueled at Curacao where they have the longer stopover.

Ps, the airline is called Arke since a couple of weeks, they dropped the Fly.

In other route news,

Norwegian announced that they will start 3 routes between London Gatwick and the US from next year. Los Angeles, New York and Fort Lauderdale will also be served from the UK capital from early July 2014.

Any indications of who it could possible be for the 100th delivery. With all the back log planes getting reworked and new assembled airplanes coming off the line.

JAL, United, China Southern, Hainan and even Air India are lined up for the next couple of deliveries. It could be any of those 5 airlines. Royal Brunei and Aeromexico could also be seen as an outsider.

It could be JAL. LN20 ZA175 JA821J is now out for C1:
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/B...000Z/KPAE/KMWH
and LN125 ZA187 JA833J returned to CHS after painting:
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/B...700Z/KFTW/KCHS
they could perform C1 flight in few next days.

LN124 ZA292 N27908 for United is ready for delivery, performed C1 flight 21st October:
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/B...900Z/KCHS/KCHS

LN119 ZA387 for China Southern now after B1 flight. Should be ferried to FTW for paint in few days.
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/B...900Z/KCHS/KGSP

LN104 ZA386 B-2737 completed B6? flight. Looks like it will be ready for delivery this month. With LN36 ZA381 B-2726 China Southern could take another 2 deliveries in October.
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/B...330Z/KCHS/KCHS

CHS team tried to make LN85 ZA434 B-2730 for Hainan airborne again, but 2 attempts failed. This one was in the air at 1st July for last time, ferry flight from FTW. Maybe Hainan will take its 4th bird later this month or in early November.

Boeing will be pushing deliveries from CHS as soon as PAE flightline will go nearly empty. Only 5-6 birds could be sitting in PAE early November.

That would be quite a turn around from when during the grounding they were parked all over PAE. Are the ones on that one runway counted in that or have they all been moved to another location?

Nope. I counted only frames ready to flight (refurbed early frames and new assembled ones).

Only 8 early frames left in storage around PAE.
6 on the RWY 11-29:
LN10, LN12, LN13, LN15, LN18, LN19
1 on the tower ramp:
LN16
1 outside EMC:
LN17

Boeing can deliver these frames till the end of October:
LN20 ZA175 JA821J for JAL
LN32 ZA235 VT-ANG for Air India
LN36 ZA381 B-2726 for China Southern
LN85 ZA434 B-2730 for Hainan @CHS
LN104 ZA386 B-2737 for China Southern @CHS
LN124 ZA292 N27908 for United @CHS
LN125 ZA187 JA833J for JAL @CHS
LN127 ZA563 N965AM for ILFC/Aeromexico
LN130 ZA446 V8-DLB for Royal Brunei

IF this will go reality, PAE will be left with these frames:
LN30 ZA234 VT-ANE for Air India
LN131 ZA435 B-2731 for Hainan
LN134 ZA216 VH-VKB for Qantas/Jetstar
LN136 ZA650 EI-LNC for Norwegian
LN137 ZA321 OO-JDL for TUI Travel (Jetairfly) - this one will be rolled out from FAL before end of October.
and LN79 ZA432 for Hainan should be finally ready for flight too.
I dont know if LN28 ZA232 VT-ANC will be rolled out from EMC to flightline in November, it can but we will see.

LN133 ZB002 N789FT 2nd 789 test frame will be ferried to KBFI after 1st flight. LN139 ZB021 N789ZB 3rd 789 will fly to KBFI too.
