and this is the most smoothly delivery to Air India. Only 4 early frames for AIC left in PAE, with LN30 ZA234 VT-ANE B1 flight in the next few days.

100th delivery is...
LN20 ZA175 JA821J for Japan Airlines. Quite nice, this is 1st frame built for JAL, and last early frame for them.

[QUOTE=PiotrG;108224949]During the foggy days LN79 ZA432 has been completed, painted and moved to flightline. Registration is B-2729. Finally happy end for this unloved frame.

What was the problem with this airframe (Hainan LN79 ZA432)? Why did it have to be refurbished so extensively after construction?

Nothing. Hainan just postponed deliveries so this one has been in storage for few months. During this time engines has been removed, so they had to install GEnx-1b again, do battery fix and paint aircraft.

Nice job Boeing and Congrats to everyone involved with the delivery. Its been a long time coming for this program. Is there any possible special livery or sticker that JAL is thinking about?

I don't think so. Its awkward to paint "100th Boeing 787" on line number 20. This frame sit in PAE over 3 years before being delivered...

It's still to be seen if the JAL 787 is actually #100, nothing seems to have happened at the delivery center yesterday.

LN124 ZA292 N27908 United Airlines is also ready for delivery in Charleston, if this one is delivered and flies away this morning it's still going to be #100.

Boeing has also been very quiet about it, usually they do something special with this kind of number but not this time.

Lion Air might take LN 10, 13, 15, 16 and 18.

http://www.aviationweek.com/Article....633779.xml&p=2

This was speculated before, but it's nice to have some kind of confirmation.

Just like Transaero. Buying the terrible teens for cheap money. Hopefully Boeing will be happy to get these planes into service and not having to waste money on scrapping them. Light at the end of the tunnel for them hopefully.

Since JAL approved the recent order with Airbus, I was hoping they wouldn't get #100.

I don't see anything weird in buying these frames. Terrible teens are still good planes with probably 15%+ better fuel burn and all other Dreamliner advantages. The main reason why they got rejected is delivery time - airlines (ANA & LAN & RAM) has negotiated good production slots and can get better frames before these will be ready to fly. This is one of advantages being early customer. Transaero and Lion will buy good planes on cheap and fly them with good profitability.

All of these early frames will probably get RR Trent1000 C-package engines (or GEnx-1B PIP2).

Boeing booked an order for 2 787s last week from an Unidentified Customer.
http://active.boeing.com/commercial/orders/index.cfm

This brings the total orders to 982, if British Airways firms up their order this week the total will be exactly 1,000.

Guess 787 slots are booked thru 2020. What a successful plane.

With the recently announced production increases (up to 12 in 2016 and to 14 at the end of the decade) there should be new delivery slots available before 2020.
