LN141 ZA560 A6-PFC delivered. It looks like it's on the way to Europe, probably to Lufthansa Technik for VIP cabin installation. Abu Dhabi.

LN22 ZA803 (former ANA ZA115) for Transaero still outside EMC. This is rather unusual, inside EMC is now one free position. This one should be moved inside soon. And it looks like LN5 is inside since December 2013. After ZB197 will be roll out to flightline, next one early frame should start re-work inside.

Is there any chance any US airline would operate this plane domestically in the next 2 years?

Or are the 737/757/767 good enough for transcontinentals?

United is the only one that operates it domestically as of now. IAH-LAX is one route that comes to mind. Delta isn't getting theres till 2020 last time I checked. AA is getting theirs in November of this year if everything is on track. They most likely will operate some domestic proving/training routes for the government and also for the pilots and flight crews to get use to the plane before they put it on international service.

Keep in mind that the longer the route they fly the 787, the more money the airline saves. Also factoring in is the size, age, and efficiency of the aircraft the 787 would replace on the route. So for US carriers to squeeze the most profitability out of the 787, they will most likely put them on international flights replacing much older Boeing & Airbus wide-body planes with similar passenger loads.

For domestic flights that are currently served by older narrow-body aircraft, it makes more economic sense for US carriers to buy 737's because they would be more efficient than what they fly currently, they would cost millions less, and they most likely would be delivered sooner.

Boeing didn't book any new 787 orders in the last 2 weeks of 2013, but they did deliver several 787s.

The end total for 2013 is 65 deliveries, with 11 in December.

The last 2 deliveries in december where:
LN141 ZA560 A6-PFC ILFC/UAE (30-Dec-2013)
LN142 ZA217 VH-VKD Jetstar (31-Dec-2013)

I wonder if something like New York to Honolulu direct makes sense.

These 2 deliveries booked in December also means January deliveries counter won't be impressive. Probably max 5:

LN26 ZA231 VT-ANB for Air India
LN132 ZA515 JA824A for ANA
LN129 ZA469 A7-BCH for Qatar
LN135 ZA293 N26909 for United
LN143 ZA586 N28MS for ILFC/VIP

and probably 5-6 deliveries in February too. March should be much better.

Can we clarify JQ B787 registrations. I've heard VH-VKC registration is already in use therefore JQ have received a total of 3 B787's OR is VH-VKB is the next to be delivered?

VH-VKD is 3rd frame for JQ.

Matt posted that LN25 ZA230 VT-ANA is scheduled for B1 today (Tuesday 7th January 2014), so LN26 ZA231 VT-ANB will be delivered soon.

[RUMOURS] There are rumors that Transaero are disappointed with the first results of operation of 787, so they are not getting 787 in 2014 as planned but [maybe] converting this order to 777.

If that was the case they would have done it together with the firming up of their 747-8Is in December.

And they got 2 more in the EMC right now, which would have been pulled out straight away if the deal was off.

It looks like Boeing has terminated the contract with the company that owns the painting facility in Ft. Worth.

The 787 that went there last, the LN129 ZA469 A7-BCH Qatar Airways which stayed there for a long time is now after a some times back in Charleston on route to Boeing's own paint hangar in Portland, Oregon. Most likely get a new lick of paint.

I actually don't know if it was actually painted in Ft. Worth, I haven't seen any pictures of it.
