I don't why but a livery with red always stands out...

Btw, apart from Air New Zealand and Scoot, is there any other airlines receiving the 787-9 by the end of this year?

They certainly stand out and hope KQ opt to pay the penalty and go with red engine cowlings

I believe AC & ANA will be receiving B789's.

Has Scoot said where they will use their 789's first?

The 1st 787-9 for United will also be loaded into assembly in 2 weeks, this one should also be delivered quickly after Air New Zealand will get their 1st one.

Etihad, Virgin Atlantic, Scoot should also get their 1st.

I thought AC was only getting their first 787-8 models this year.

AZ and ANA are the first two customers for the 787-9 model. I cant believe that Boeing is going to start or has started to build the 787-9 for customers with out finishing the flight tests stage. I hope they dont need any fixing like the early 787-8s so we dont have any more terrible teens 787s to join the ones we have already.

They need 1 or 2 production 787-9 for the certification process.

But they I guess they are already building a couple more already to get a couple ready to deliver straight away after the certification. They won't need as much rework as the early 787-8s, maybe a little bit as a result from the testing. But most work will only have to be done on the 3 prototypes which should be delivered later in 2015. You have to keep in mind that the 787-9 is the 2nd version of a plane that is already in production. There's much less new on the -9 then on the -8. The -9s are now already built at the same speed as the -8s for example, and it's already beating the original weight targets.

in other news.

Norwegian has secured a lease deal for 4 more 787-9s with ILFC.
http://www.mynewsdesk.com/uk/norwegi...mliners-960737

This brings their total number of the 787s to 14, and the -9s to 6.

Of all the liveries, Thompson is one of my very very last choices, even on the 787 I find it lame.

Now for the most boring 787 livery title goes to JAL. Now that's a cheap design with only white and red with a little black. They couldn't think of a livery to paint on the planes like china southern did with theres.
