Went for my first ride on one of these and took some photos. Awesome plane, it was quiet, smooth and the air was noticeably less dry and free of odours/fumes. Jetstar JQ35 from Sydney to Melbourne.

Do you have a link you can provide verifying this? My information is that the quality was not the issue, but a disagreement with the delivery personnel was the problem. There was apparently a big disagreement with the people here in Charleston feeling that Qatar was being very, very difficult because of the issues they had with earlier frames built in Everett.

Hurray! TG's first 787 (line 190) was rolled out of the factory to the 40-51 apron a few days ago. I can't wait for the paint job to be done.

I've heard a lot about the July debut, I was actually referring to the postponement to late November.

Recently it was in the news that Norwegian suspended talks for a new direct order for 20 787s because of a conflict with the US government over their plans for more long haul flight to the US. These will be operated by Norwegian Air International, the company that Norwegian has set up in Ireland to make use of the open skies agreement between the US and the EU.

But now Norwegian has announced that it will lease 3 more 787-9s from an undisclosed lessor. Bringing their order total to 17 out of which 9 are 787-9s.
